Our heroes from the Trine universe are back at it again, whether they want to be or not.

Trine 2 is a lesson of how a great game should be. Action, platforming, puzzles, an impressive visual design, a great soundtrack, amazing level design and one of the best cooperative modes, both local and online, we have seen in a very long time.

Trine 2 is a fantastic game, just like its predecessor, and one which we feel we can easily and flatly recommend to gamers of all tastes and ability levels - no matter who you are, you can't help but love Trine 2.

A fantastic world, good gamepaly particularly in multiplayer and fitting sounds – Trine 2 has it all. The Collector's Edition with artbook and download code for the original is a half-price game to boot. If you hate skill games or thinking, skip it. Otherwise, there's no excuse to pass this one – one of the hidden gems 2011.

Trine 2 is one of those precious games that you can't help but fall in love with after just a few minutes with it. With some truly amazing level design and art styles, coupled with a simple gameplay mechanic, Trine 2 is a must try for any side-scrolling fans, or really just anyone who wants to have some fun with a rather unique adventure game.

On the whole, the creators of Trine took the safe route in crafting Trine 2. They strayed little from their original concept, resulting in a game that is equally as enjoyable as the first.

Once beaten, there is little cause for repeat playthroughs, but the initial experience is so captivating that this hardly matters. Too many people missed out on the first game, and I hope that they don't make the same mistake twice. Trine 2 is easily one of the year's most enchanting puzzle-platformers.

Trine 2 throws players into a dazzling fantasy world and gives them three fun tools with which to save it. It's delightfully open-ended, from how you solve problems to whether or not you go it alone. Fans of puzzle games will not be disappointed.

Simply put, Trine 2 is an excellent game. All of the best elements from the first game, from the puzzles to the use of persona switching, come through with minimal changes while the addition of online multiplayer brings in a much-desired feature.

Trine 2 is a superb sequel that builds upon all the things the original did well. Its a beauitiful and extremely well crafted adventure with great value for such a low price.

Trine 2 is a colourful, an original and in every way better than the very best game. This title is almost without any flaw, apart from the respecialization with no punishment, that everyone of all ages can enjoy it.

Trine 2 is a stellar sequel that is worth every penny, but it's a fairly short ride and the replayability is strictly up to you and your love for collection, or breaking the physics engine and flying across the stage on a levitating box while doing your best Magneto impression. Trine 1 was a great Indie-Game and the Sequel is even better. The puzzles are more demanding, the coop is more fun and the levels are longer and the addition of an online coop feature, makes Trine 2 a perfect game to play with your friends.

Trine 2 is great game and better than the previous one. It is a perfect choice to regain the magic of the platform genre, with an immersive, colorful and nice accomplished atmosphere that invites us to dream in the world of children's stories. It's an entertaining game that will test our ability and wit, but never enough to force you to surrender, but sadly short. You cann't miss the chance to try it.

The short duration of the adventure is balanced by the constant number of puzzles and the fact that they had to be designed for solo and co-op play. But the first time you fire up Trine 2, the best way to do it is with patience and taking time to contemplate the scenery.

Trine 2 is far from mould-breaking, but the edges have all been smoothed and it's lovelier than ever.

The short length of the campaign and a few overly challenging puzzles are minor blemishes in an overall entertaining and worthwhile experience. Fans of the side-scrolling and platform genres need not look elsewhere, Trine 2 offers a wealth of truly innovative puzzles that are a welcome getaway from the current market of repeated genre titles.

Like magic, Trine 2 bends to players' will, accommodating solo adventurers and groups alike, with a multitude of solutions for both. Rarely have the cold laws of physics been so bewitching.

Trine 2 builds upon all the qualities of the first game and expands the formula with more creativity and multiplayer fun. The balancing could be better, but that doesn't change the fact that Trine 2 is a highly entertaining adventure with beautiful visuals.

Maybe it is over-colored and too fairy but in fact Trine 2 is an excellent platformer with a strong physics engine, distinct heroes and multiple puzzle-solving solutions. Multiplayer adds extra crème. [Christmas 2011]

In the end, while the core gameplay remains wholly unchanged from the original (not to mention that expert players can still cheese their way through most areas by abusing the wizard's crate-creating spells), the stunning visual details and effects do more to enhance the already-robust mechanics then one might expect.

The original Trine was an excellent title, but Trine 2 has re-established Frozenbyte's well-earned reputation for quality. A steal at $15, Trine 2 is worthwhile investment for any puzzle-oriented players looking for something to sink their teeth into.

The control scheme on the PC is highly intuitive and easy to assimilate and its charming combination of visual and flexibility with challenging puzzles makes it recommendable for virtually all types of public.

Feels like a genuine step up from its impressive predecessor. Everything about the game is better in only an incremental way, leading to the occasional feeling of excessive familiarity. But then, Trine was already so good that it's hard to argue with more of the same great game, right?

The trio of heroes is back in Trine 2 with an identical concept, but an adventure that got richer in terms of gameplay, also showing more mastery. In terms of visuals, they will probably set a mark in the history of videogames : it's a real success that needs to be played by both fans of the original an newcomers.

Goblins, orcs, wizards, knights, princesses, queens, sexy thieves, dragons and enchanted castles. Need we say more? Yes, is a must have.

Trine 2 is what the original should have been. The world looks like a fairytale come to life, puzzles are more original and the online mode is a logical addition. But thanks to the lack of new gameplay elements, Trine 2 often feels like a polished version of the original.

This cozy little gem has more to offer than the sum of its parts, which are a repetitive combat system, physics challenges that are easily bruteforced and ill balanced characters. You can thank the amazing atmosphere and a great co-op campaign for that.

One of the most artistically accomplished games to have emerged from an independent studio, Trine 2 has enough minor tweaks and new things to see to draw you back into its playground. It's a short, sweet, occasionally imperfect little treat.

If you can look past some of the more awkward elements – especially if you can do so with a couple of friends – there is definitely some meat to be found in Trine 2. You'll just have to crack a lot of shells to find it.
