Oct 27, 2010Overall, I really liked my time with Alien Breed Impact. I did not play the original game back in the day, so I honestly do not have anything to compare it to, but I really had some fun with this fast paced action shooter.

Alien Breed: Impact successfully blends the atmosphere of a survival horror title with the action of classic arcade shooters, and despite some small flaws the game comes highly recommended.

Dec 21, 2010Anyone who played the original Alien Breed back in the day will find their simple top-down shooter is all grown up with great lighting effects, an atmospheric soundtrack, and affecting cinematic events.

The game is good; fans of tense, methodical dual stick shooters will probably really enjoy it. It's just a shame that the wider-reaching problems weren't addressed.

Jan 12, 2011The action in Alien Breed: Impact is pretty fun, but after a hour of playtime you will see that the game is way too repetitive and that's a shame. The concept is cool, but could have been a lot better.

Oct 21, 2010Alien Breed: Impact is a love letter to all the things that inspired the designers, but apparently they forgot to flirt with fun. Unless you still boot up your Amiga to play the original, don't waste time when there are better games in the genre.

There's no incentive to save the Leopold and her crew from destruction, and playing through the game feels more like a chore than a challenge. It's a valiant attempt at reinvigorating an old franchise, but one that ultimately fails to make an impact.
