Attraction is an interesting proposal. Although at first glance the similarities with other games of the genre such as Portal jump easily, the title manages to shine by offering unique game mechanics, like the gravity control, that separate it from other projects. Difficult at moments, easy in other ones and sometimes very confusing. If you are someone who like puzzle titles with a first person perspective that ask you to experiment with your environment, then give Attractio an opportunity.

Each puzzle is so gratifying that I have no choice but to challenge myself again, but at the same time, nothing stands out.

Attractio is a good game that you can play in a weekend, share with your friends, or give your brain a complex challenge.

Everything about it screams “knockoff” like a “ROLAX” watch, but don’t be fooled: if you’re a fiend for devious puzzles, Attractio is the real deal.

Attractio may seem like a Portal rip off with very bad story, but fans of the genre may also appreciate it for its simple mechanics and affordable price.

Fun, quick paced, but a little clumsy, Attractio is passable and provides a fun and unique alternative to a shooter.

Attractio is a game that has clearly been influenced by Half-Life and Portal but unfortunately doesn’t match up to those superior titles.

Attractio's first-person physics-based puzzles are good enough to stand on their own, which is why it's such a shame that its intrusive and simplistic story undermines their appeal. If you can ignore the obnoxious voice acting and dopey plot long enough to enjoy the satisfying puzzles though, we suggest you do so.

I suppose, though, that if you play Attractio with the volume turned way down on a less-than-amazing TV with absolutely no expectations of anything above mediocrity, it has some solid enough puzzles that it might be somewhat worth your time.

The plot is banal, the writing is tone deaf, and the acting is wooden. Those who can ignore the dressing and focus on the puzzles alone can find some good head-scratching moments and interesting logical interactions.

If you’re a die-hard that’s looking for something new, and you don’t mind slogging through uninspired dialog and lagging controls, you’ll probably find yourself enjoying Attractio well enough to be worth a look. Otherwise, though, I’d have to say you can get a better overall experience by sticking to the more well-established titles.

The theme could have been better explored and the rough edges on the control detract from the inherent fun of the puzzles. More than anything else, however, is that Attractio doesn't do anything to progress its genre.

Had the team at GameCoder shied away from formula and tried to do something more unique with Attractio, I think we could've ended up with a far better game. As it stands, it feels too "me too"-ish, without any sort of validated story or voice acting, and that makes the $20 purchase one that isn't so, erm, attractive.

Attractio has solid puzzle mechanics that it uses well and they're varied enough to remain interesting, but they're surrounded by grossly outdated visuals, poor voice performances, and an obnoxious narrative. For $20, the game doesn't really justify its price tag.

Forgettable characters with a lackluster storyline do not help a puzzle game that can be, at times, enjoyable and, at worst, downright infuriating.

With high-quality puzzle games like The Talos Principle available, I don't understand why anybody would pay to play Attractio. Its numerous flaws and bad design decisions aren't something that can be patched at a later date.

Attractio is cool, and is the first 1st person puzzle game I have played since probably Portal 2. Luckily, the game borrows a lot from Portal,Attractio is cool, and is the first 1st person puzzle game I have played since probably Portal 2. Luckily, the game borrows a lot from Portal, with a little bit of The Running Man mixed in to make a really cool back story.

In the game, characters are competing to get though the puzzles the fastest in order to win prizes they have selected. Each character has a unique back story and reason they want/need to win, and that adds to the fuel they have to compete.

Instead of Portal guns the game utilizes gravity to make it's puzzles, which is quite an interesting concept, and works!

The game looks nice aesthetically with a definite Sci-Fi/Spaceship theme as you are on a spaceship above Mars. Think of it kind of as a dark/evil version of the Portal courses.

One negative note is the controls are very touchy, and sometimes it is a pain to make a jump, or get box placement just right. Also, the puzzles aren't always all that intuitive, meaning in a lot of puzzle game scenarios you can really look at everything and game plan for what you need to do to complete it, but this game at times isn't like that and really just needs repeated trial and error. The mechanics aren't always taught well, so you just have to start doing things to figure it out.

A good experience overall, and for anyone who loves Portal this will scratch the urge for sure, but definitely don't go into this thinking the two are on par, as you do have to force yourself through some of Attractio.

If you like Talos Principle or Portal, you will like the gameplay of this. However, the story/voice acting is garbage. "I didn't grow up with a lot of advantages. I grew up in a poor neighborhood." You could have said this...without actually saying it. The dialog is so bad, it becomes a comedy. Full Review »
