Mud Runner, ultimately, is an outstanding title ... in the narrowest sense of the term.

Spintires MudRunner brings a new experience on the racing genre, being much better than its predecessor thanks to a new open world map and great quality settings. A game only for those with patience due to its terrible camera.

Anything but dirt: Spintires is a fun off-road simulation for patient truck fans.

For those of you undecided on whether or not to give Mudrunner: A Spintires Game a try, you need to ask yourself what you’re looking to get from this game. If you’re looking to simply relax and sling mud around a track in a speeding ute, then this isn’t the game for you (I suggest going back to the Motorstorm games for that). If you’re looking for a technical 4WD simulation experience that replicates the act of off-road driving remarkably well, then Mudrunner is definitely what you’re looking for. It runs well enough on consoles, the controls make sense and it has plenty of replayability with bonus objectives plus a fun multiplayer experience. Just like real off-road driving, Mudrunner can be frustrating and difficult, but for the most part it’s fun, satisfying and gloriously messy.

If you're able to handle the annoying camera and slow pace, Spintires: MudRunner may just surprise you with its deep, varied and challenging gameplay.

Spintires: Mudrunner is a hard-crusted simulation title that makes you earn your fun through hard work and determination. It’s certainly not for everyone with a crawling pace and a muted aesthetic, but the impressive physics and sandbox design make for some great moments, especially if you’re playing with others. The UI and vehicle handling will have you wrestling for control at times, but if you persevere, this is a game with surprisingly rewarding gameplay and plenty to get stuck into.

The camera problems do threaten to take this off-road game into a ditch, but you’ll likely come back and persevere with MudRunner far more generously and readily than you would expect.

Spintires: Mudrunner is aimed for the kind of players who get involved in slow pace game mechanics and extreme simulation.

It is obvious that Spintires is aimed at a certain audience, but if you fit in that group of players who would enjoy truck racing, you'll be quite happy with this title, making the most of its virtues and forgiving its shortcomings.

Spintires: MudRunner is an off-roading simulator with serious potential to be a surprise hit for fans of simulators – particularly the Farming Simulator series. It creates a sense of purpose and duty in the job you set out to complete, and you desperately want to complete the task at hand, however, the almost complete lack of instructions on advanced yet core mechanics of the game will definitely be a point of frustration for gamers who have not previously played Spintires. For everything this game gets right – the attention to detail, the physics engine, and the freedom before you – it means very little if you can’t complete a single delivery.

New players might feel a bit intimidated and frustrated at times by the many unexplained mechanics, but if the time and dedication is put into it, Spintires: Mudrunner can become a dirty but somewhat fulfilling experience you can return to again and again.

There’s no denying that Spintires is a different take on the transportation simulator game, but different isn’t enough if the game in question doesn’t keep consistency in its simming. A decent title to potter about in, especially with others, but whenever additional rules are implemented, Spintires is apt to suffer.

Part driving game, part menial labour simulator, Mudrunners may well be the least fun we've had on our PS4. This isn't a game that sends the mud flying everywhere, it's one where the mud bogs you down until you feel like you are drowning in it. However, if you're looking for a challenging trucking simulator that is genuinely different, this may be well up your street. Do your research before you buy though.

It semms like a boring premise for some few hardcore fans but in fact this game is very enjoyable for all. I recoomend playing it in hardcore mode and solve everything by yourself. Yesterday a K-700 loader fell into a stream and was stuck on a side. I couldn't move it back using the winch cause the engine was stalled. I had to drive close with antoher truck leave it on a hard ground and pull the K-700 out. It took an hour but it was super satisfying to solve it. This game is not about driving miles for minutes this game is about driving 1 mile for hours.
Most of the time you'll be driving around and delivering logs. I recommend to spend some time in challenge mode to get used to everything. Challenges are short and fun.
    Enjoy the game.

The physics and environments, everything combines and feels very realistic. The majority of the game is transporting logs across the maps, and it can be slow at times so patience is a must. Playing online is very fun and cool. There is also challenges you can take on and go for three stars. Full Review »

If you already played spintires for pc you'll probably still enjoy this remake for ps4. It would be almost a perfect game if they implemented pc mods, say via the website for approved models and maps. What i enjoyed in the PC version is the ability to just rockcrawl in a modded vehicle. For my breakdown of the review. The game has out dated graphics which still look amazing, the games got fluid dynamics, terrain deformation, volumetric smoke, great HDR and overall the best visual physics besides some ugly unrealistic artifacts. The damage model lacks though, wish they put beamNG damage physics in. The game is very challenging. It's a refreshing break from high paced sim racers. It's not for everyone getting stuck in mud and fuel consumption is the challenge. The steering while is kinda realistic in >800 degrees way but it is way too sensitive. The manual gear box is not real, unfortunately it only allows a swap to the transmission and automatic. No clutch, or shifting is really required. It's not spintires 2, it does lack new content and if you played it before it's definitely overpriced. The settings are weak as well the tuning controls and specific options are extremely basic. The multiplayers server browser sucks, and while it should have one, it sucks. There's no quick matchmaking either. Trying to get a game going is brutal. Full Review »
