Apr 27, 2014The concept is hilarious and it works great, but it feels quite short and makes you wish for a few extra levels. Still, a great experience enhanced by new control schemes on PS4.
-
May 14, 2014Originally and stupidly funny, with plenty of charm wrapped up in a package that is a bit too short.

Playstation Official Magazine UKMay 23, 2014A loveable hot mess of a game. [June 2014, p.91]
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaMay 17, 2014Stupid, emergent fun that's unlike any game you've ever play before. Two hour run-time hurts the package if you aren't a local co-op person. [June 2014, p83]

May 13, 2014Initially Octodad: Dadliest Catch is very entertaining and offers many laughs but the originality of the game does not quite last until the end due to some repetitive levels and frustrating game moments. However, thanks to a great script and charming characters Octodad: Dadliest Catch still remains a fun and different gaming experience.
-
May 2, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch may not be a triple A game, but Young Horses have been smart enough to make it catchy, with a particularly endearing hero. Unfortunately, Octodad suffers from an imprecise gameplay, a sometimes crazy camera and approximative collisions. It remains a good experience, maybe too expensive though.

Apr 25, 2014Making coffee, stealing some cereal for the kids, getting away with murder in an Aquarium transformed into a death trap... The usual a good father and devoted husband will do for his family. Did we say we playing an octopus in disguise married to a human woman and trying to live the perfect American family dream? As crazy as its plot, the controls are frustrating, tedious and nerve-wracking, but this is what Octodad is all about: To make these little daily things as if we were a squid in a slapstick world. It's short and the gameplay needs some balance with the core mechanics, but indeed drew a smile on our faces.
-
Apr 25, 2014Original and funny, Octodad is a good adventure game with a inconsistent controls.
-
Apr 22, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a game that embraces its craziness.
-
Apr 28, 2014Octodad is as simple as it is fun. It might not be a lengthy game and is quite repetitive, but the game is so random that every second is worthy if you're a fan of non-conventional games.
-
May 19, 2014The game is recommended to those who are looking for a product able to deliver a few laughs with friends, also because of the interesting co-op mode, which provides, for each player, the use of a different limb, for a "virtual" version of Twister. Really hilarious.
-
May 8, 2014Don’t get this until the bugs are patched out.
-
Apr 25, 2014While it started out as a great experience, sadly, much like the floppy tentacles of Octodad, Dadliest Catch couldn’t hold itself up and began to flail wildly all over the place. The hilarity and novelty wear thin quickly and there was too often that my tentacles became glitched inside of random objects or the environment itself.
-
Play UKJun 1, 2014While undeniably amusing, Octodad just doesn't have enough content to make it worth the asking price. [Issue#244, p.64]
-
May 7, 2014An intriguing and hilarious game with a faulty level design and totally crazy control scheme.
-
Apr 29, 2014As its main character, Octodad tries to hide its real nature, but sooner or later you'll grasp it anyway. It's not for the impatient gamer, and some design choices ultimately spoil the fun.
-
Apr 23, 2014A strange experience: controls are awful but that's why, besides the looney set up, Octodad shines. Even if it is not visually good and quite short, all we retain is that it's quite a hilarious game.
-
May 2, 2014The short-lived Octodad experience is super unique and amusing, occasionally irritating, but overall fun and probably worth checking out.
-
Apr 28, 2014A zany, brilliant concept and unfortunately pretty much nothing else: Octodad: Dadliest Catch literally doesn't have a spine capable of holding everything up, making it closer to a wasted opportunity rather than the next big indie thing.
-
Jun 24, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a good time filler, to put on whist you have a spare fifteen twenty minutes. But I wouldn’t recommend paying the full asking price for something thats gimmick wears off pretty fast and leaves you longing for “those good parts”.
-
Apr 30, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a case of love or hate. Many will love it for the different experience and because of all the silliness of the protagonist, while others simply will feel they are wasting their time.

Jun 27, 2022It's fun and silly but nothing much more than that. It's cheap so you'll probably have some fun with it.
