The game would be cool if they didn't nerf all the things that made it fun, not to mention everything they want you to play is locked behind an insane amount of gold to buy the pass, and then the highest level PAYS you back the gold, so the only point of it is so you pay cash for the gold and rockstar gets to keep the cash you just spent to get that, it's really shows you how little they care about the game and how much they want to squeeze money out of it's players before it dies out, **** rockstar for ruining the game by taking everything fun out and making it a big **** you pay me… Expand

    - Кривое управление, которое забывается, если перерыв б ыл хоть 1 месяц. Это бесконечное тыкание кнопки бега!! да у меня геймпад плохо начал себя от такого управления чувствовать. Почему нет перка чтобы исправить это? Окей я начал только играть и это типа погружает, так как реализм все дела - хочешь быстрее бегать, тогда быстрее тыкай. Но эта механика    А так я не знаю.. все как-то не так.

Получается на руках мир, где только можно безнаказанно зверей убивать, но если люди, тогда разу "вертолет" за тобой шлют. По мне так это убивает то погружение, которого они пытаются добиться сра**м накликиванием кнопочки бега
    - странный урон - иногда какие-то ваншоты проскальзывают,
    - невозможность оторваться от преследования. Тоже еще та история. У них датчик джипиэс с моим местоположением???
    - большой и пустой мир. Я понимаю за что критикуют Ubisoft, но почему их модно критиковать, а рокстаров нет? Это такой же пустой и неинтересный мир, где тупая лошадь еще спотыкается(!)
    - плохой UX и анбоардинг пользователей. Меню и ux у рокстаров всегда был плохой, но анбоардинг хотя бы сделать нормальный можно? какая-то черная плашка, которую легко пропустить, в углу один раз появляется и все
    - плохой UX инвентаря. Ведьмака почему-то за инвентарь ругают, а вот тут ситуация на несколько порядков хуже. А еще это черт**ое оружие, которое пропадает в лошади где-то по окончанию миссий... рррррр

    Игру продумали в деталях всяких типа красивая дымка и как лошадь кладет кучи, но главные аспекты Human Interaction не продумывали и не улучшали со времен 4 гта, от чего игра бесит и не доставляет удовольствия    … Expand

    I would give this game a 6/10 and the first game a 9/10, it's a disappointment as a sequel.

    But I'm giving it a ZERO because rockstar is deleting and banning users who criticize the game on steam, that's NOT how you improve the game. They should listen to players and fix the game.

    The most overhyped game in the entire gaming industry, clunky controls, tedious horse riding, repetitive mechanics, I could go on and on, giving a zero to bring down the rating for this overhyped garbage just because it's a Rockstar game.

But in the first mission in hand-to-hand combat on fists in the barn, my hero simply did not respond to the push of the strike button. That is, I and my opponent just stood in front of each other and did not fight. I thought - it happens, and restarted the game again. 15 minutes later, the situation was repeated. Then I restarted again. Do I need to say that the game kept me from beating that guy again? It's worth noting that this damn game doesn't even give me a chance to save (this option locked all the time since start). In other words, it takes 15 minutes to get to the ill-fated barn and make sure that I'm stuck again this time. Wasted time and money.… Expand

Not to mention a player invests so much time into Arthur to have him wiped out in such a pathetic way.     I don't care about that I liked the story of Red Dead Redemption 2, the online part, the Showdown Mode in particular is not good at all which is why I'm giving it 1 of 10.

Arthur Morgan is amazing new character. Great story. The solo mo kills with closeups of faces is satisfying. I appreciate the slowness of a lot of the animation and how it adds to the atmosphere.

    Combat is somehow not that much better than 1. Guarma was unnecessary and was a huge part of the fatigue I felt at that time. The final Arthur Micah fight is meh except for Arthur's plea to Dutch. Honestly the second half of the Micah character isn't great. Everything around him is fine but just the character itself is a little weak. Reverend is annoying. I wish I could walk faster in camp.    … Expand

    Amazing artwork, totally believable animal movement and behavior, but that's it. Dreadful combat, clunky PC controls, moronic writing, one dimensional missions designed by idiots. It's all summed up by the fact that acquiring and improving weapons is an important game mechanism, but the missions replace them with crap weapons because reasons. If they f***ed that up, imagine how bad the rest is.

    I've tried to get in to this game around 4 times and every time it drives me to hate it even more. The controls are awful, I'm sure the controls change as the game goes on. The story line is painful. It makes you hate playing the character. You are forced to make choices no one would ever do.
    Cant hate on this game enough. Please don't play or buy it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have found the controls and the gameplay very unintuitive and the lack of a save as you progress is a bore and finally there is no practice mode or area.
    At the beginning of the story it takes about 10-minutes before you get to the first play scene and then if you die on that scene, (which I did) then you have to go back to the beginning and relive the same story.
    When I finally got to the second scene there is a point where you are guided to remove a weapon from your horse saddlebag and I cannot work out how to do it.
    The movement of the characters I think should be more intuitive and there should be a save option throughout the story.
    I'm not a particularly good player on these things so perhaps my lack of skill does not help but if there were practice areas or help guides then that would aid my chances of improving.
    The graphics are amazing and I'm sure the story will be if I can ever progress beyond a snails pace but for me some key basics have been overlooked.    … Expand

Even once the open world opens up to you... all you do is basic tasks with incredibly long trips. Ride 10 min to punch a guy who owes money once than ride 10 min back to camp. Then do that 3 more times! Ride 10 min to pick somebody up to ride 10after over a dozen hours I can say the game is painfully overrated. Ride 10 min to a hunting spot than hunt 1 animal than ride 10 min back to camp. If you hated FF15 and it's car mechanic well it's the same here. Bad boring mission design in a shockingly empty open world. The experience is also hampered by terrible movement mechanics. You walk at a snails pace as if your in Gears of War 1 talking on the radio and you can hold the sprint button to speed up... but you go to full speed automatically and as soon as you let go you are a snail again. Some how there is no jog option so you end up running past things you want or crawling up to them slowly. Shooting feels awful made worse by a awkward implementation of a cover system and the poor movement controls. The game also never seems to remember what weapons I have equipped. It always takes my long arms off my body even though they are hanging on my back not just keeping them on my horse but removing them forcing me to reopen the horse inventory. Maybe the game will improve if the story picks up. But right now it's painfully boring with long drawn out conversations about nothing important with idiots who's names I can't remember. As for the supposed amazing graphics... the best way to describe the game is blurry very blurry.

    I have now beaten the game. It will not be a game I remember fondly. There is only 1 mission in the whole game that I will remember and that was when you rolled up to that house to find the kid. I was really feeling that mission... too bad once you get there the shooting it terrible. I have serious problems with how nearly every single mission is designed and how almost all the story is delivered throughout the game. Everything is tedious without an upside after you bother going through it all. Less than half way through the game and I had all the money I would ever need and fully modified guns, horse, and clothes that I would never need to change. After that almost every side quest in the game was a absolute waste of time with a tiny bit of mediocre story that wasn't worth the travel time. I started to avoid everything and do a straight line for the necessary story line missions because I was done with the game but wanted to know the story. I wouldn't say it was bad but as it started to end I was disappointed with so many actions of the main character that I was totally taken out of the experience. In the rest of the game you can do whatever you want and totally create what type of person you are with your interactions with people. But in the main game I'm thinking "**** you shot that person I liked you are dead". I shoot him mission failed. You also have to just shake your head at how stupid the major fight scenes are. You get 10 hours of 100 people shooting at you as you guys barely move or slowly ride away completely exposed and not a single ****ing person can hit anybody or your horses. It's too absurd for my taste... they needed to design fights better but the AI is so simple they have to throw waves and waves of enemies at you to even force you to move your character. Nothing in this world ever reflects anything that happens. You kill 5 times a towns population and then return the next day and everybody is there. You fight a rival gang that apparently has 1000 men and you have 20. Nothing makes sense    … Expand

    The game is a true masterpiece but I'll score it 1 as Rockstar **** decided not to make a photo mode.
    Even the dullest PS4 game has a goddamn photo mode but RDR only has it not PC (where you can use goddamn Ansel and stuff like that). And even after PC release photo mode was not included in the PS4 version so curse you.

    Compelling voice acting, albeit accompanied by a fairly predictable plot. The exploration is enjoyable with plentiful breathtaking moments. However, the experience is marred by clunky horse riding and shooting. Additionally, the way the lawmen react to the player's actions (and inactions) is completely illogical. The result was a playthrough that felt like a chore.

    I can’t for the life of me figure out how this game got rated so well. 98% of the things you can do in this game are pointless and are just to waste time in the most generic and boring ways. The game is inconsistent and the writing is frustratingly lazy. Nothing to be impressed about and certainly not something to waste your money on. Wait until it’s free.

    WORST CONTROLLS EVER MADE. EVEN GTA 3 AND VICE CITY HAS BETTER CPNTROLLS. ANIMATIONS RESTRICT YOUR MOVEMENTS. EVERY TIME EVERYWHERE ANIMATIONS BOTHERING AND INTERCEPT THE THE MOVEMENT. OVERRATED BAD GAME. JUST GRAPHICS ARE GOOD. EXCEPT GRAPICS ITS JUST SH*T. ESPECIALLY IN RED DEAD ONLINE.

    in short, the most boring game I have ever played. Slept on the couch too many times. Not going to buy a game just on reviews without watching a gameplay video on how engaging the Game really is.

    The Graphics were indeed the best.

    Best game ever! I respect other people's opinion that its slow but that's exactly what i want in games. and when it comes to open world game there is no other company who can make games like Rockstar. And this game has one of the best stories ever written.

    An incredibly boring game. I barely mastered the prologue. Online is at least a little more fun, but it does not addictive either. The story is silly, the characters are not interesting. It feels like the plot was written for children under 5 (or screenwriters, children under 5).

    what a bitter disappointment..yes the graphics and the details are amazing and the story was going great up untill the point where Arthur dies..that whole plot doesnt make sense..Dutch doesnt make any sense, he leaves Arthur over Micah and Micah just **** off with the money while Arthur dies alone and Micah got what he wanted??!! **** me. requested a refund,i hope i get my money back.

    The story is sucking you into it. You start to really worry about everyone. The ending is one of the best. If you did not cry in the end you must be a heartless  human from the tax office.

    O jogo é lindo e ultra realista de forma impressionante, mas igualmente chato e tedioso, foram 60 horas jogadas no lixo na esperança q o jogo tivesse qualquer coisa interessante e nada... Péssimo personagem principal, história muito mais ou menos com poucos pontos altos e muito... mas muuuito passeio de cavalo sem absolutamente nada de interessante acontecendo.

    Die Missionen sind Todes langweilig. Die Steuerung ist aus der Hölle und im Grunde wird man vom Game nur bestraft sobald man versucht es zu spielen. 1 Punkt gebe ich hier nur deshalb weil ich Westernsettings sehr mag. Schlechteste Game, dass ich bisher in meinem Leben gespielt habe!

    Игра не так реалистична как казалось. Даже кнопку отмены не добавили, разрабы наверно всегда доделывают действея не останвливаясь даже под дулом ствола.
    Пример персонаж освижовывает тушу животного и нанего начинает бежать пума или медведь и он ведь не бросит тушу он будет доделывать свои дела пока не получит по ебалу от бегущего на него противника.    Игра не так реалистична как казалось. Даже кнопку отмены не добавили, разрабы наверно всегда доделывают действея не останвливаясь даже под дулом ствола.
    Пример персонаж освижовывает тушу животного и нанего начинает бежать пума или медведь и он ведь не бросит тушу он будет доделывать свои дела пока не получит по ебалу от бегущего на него противника.

    The single player is a 10/10. That’s out of the way..

    Rockstar needs to GIVE UP doing online modes. They are terrible and suck so bad.
    As a trophy hunter it makes these games unfun and almost unplayable.
    0.5/10 for the online portion.

It suffers from laggy controls too which gets very boring when your trying to shoot a mountain lion etc. The main character is slow (very) and seems to stroll through the game (including fire fights) like a man who has smoked WAY too much pot. Additionally, the story is not at all gripping. You're a bunch of bad guys who have good hearts (as opposed to the other two options in the game of good guys with bad hearts or bad guys with bad hearts). The conversations you can have with people are 'she'll be right' and 'blah blah, hungry and lost in the woods' boring fillers. There is zero character customisation at the start. Arthur is... Arthur. He looks the way he does and sounds the way he does which, I hasten to add, has absolutely zero charm. He is not in the slightest bit lovable and more importantly, the way he talks and ideas he has makes him a sturdy beta character with very little desire to do actual good i.e. 'well alright I'll go and rescue my friend and colleague but only because another man who is lower ranked than me but a stronger leader with much higher moral integrity than me has said so'. It's pathetic. He is the epitome of a nonchalant wanker whose moral code is based on self and obedience. He has no fire in him, his story is boring. he isn't clever and because the controls are rubbish, he isn't fast, or a very good shot. He should have been dead a LONG time ago. I have repeatedly tried to get into RDR2 and every time I have failed. It is frustratingly slow, clunky and boring. Because of these issues, it's simply impossible to get into it, to feel energised, to enjoy the views, to find fun characters. I may try again sometime but I simply can't see why I will ever understand how this game has done so well for itself. Give me bug ridden Fallout, Witcher or Mass Effect any day of the week.    … Expand

You are riding to a story mission, surprise bounty hunters start shooting you, but you outrun them not wanting to deal with their annoying mechanics anymore, only to run straight into another giant group of bounty hunters that you cannot outrun and they kill you, no decency of mechanics. You have a huge firefight with your gang when money has been tight and dead bodies are everywhere with money on them, the game doesn't let you pick it up and makes you fail the mission if you do, no decency of mechanics. This game is one of the most passive aggressive rude things I've ever experienced. Trying something, failing, learning from your mistake, and then winning from that learning is the very basics of video games themselves. Red Dead Redemption 2 REFUSES TO LET YOU HAVE REDEMPTION! This is so ridiculous it seems like an inside joke! And do not fool yourself into thinking you have freedom here, You have to do every mission the EXACT way they want you to, otherwise you fail. It is insanely abrasive. "Hey lets keep our guns down, I know how trigger happy you get" if you disagree too bad, it's all extremely rigid. Lovers of Mario, BEWARE, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.     Rock Star makes another closed world game. There is an open world until you play an actual mission and then the world closes and rockstar holds you by the hand and makes you do everything they want you to do in the order they want you to do it. Lame.

    Red Dead Redemption 2 is an example of both one of the best games of the decade and one of the most predatory business models with the introduction of Read Dead Online. This game is a straight 9 or 10 with the single player and could easily make the same rating with its online features, sadly the gameplay is flawed by design to force purchases of ingame currency.

    I really tried liking this game, but I don't have any strength left to actually finish the game. I've been playing for 30 long hours of never-ending chores, riding my horse and tapping x. I feel actually sad. The graphics are stunning, the voice acting is great and I like some of the characters, but the game is just too long ad boring.

    I do not understand the high ratings for this game! in the first 5 hours you download boring dialogues somewhere on a horse in 3 hours, I bought the game to play and not to ride a horse. Everything is slow here, even at the moment when you pick up cartridges from killed enemies, it is done as slowly as possible! this game is overrated.

Некоторые персонажи болтают настолько быстро, что даже субтитры прочесть не успеть, а в пылу сражения просто забей.

    В эту игру просто скучно играть. Даже забагованный киберпанк наголову выше, чем этот апофеоз уныния. Сюжет и геймплей вот что важно, а не красивый мир и проработка деталей. В этой игре ни сюжета, ни геймплея. Эта игра для тех кто просто любит большие, красивые и проработанные миры. Те кто будет в восторге от дотошной проработки всех деталей. Кому интересно просто медитативно путешествовать по миру. Я лично засыпаю от уныния. Все однообразно и пресно. Скучнейшая игра на моей памяти. Скука=плохая игра. And after you shoot a thousand guys, you have to escape and shoot a hundred more enemies on your way out. And I hate the medal challenges after every mission. I'm not going to replay these missions to get gold medals, I mean it's good to have challenges but let me play the way I want to play without making me feel like a loser for mostly obtaining bronze medals. It doesn't tell you beforehand what you need to do anyways, so what the heck? Like how am I suppose to know to use my sidearms instead of my rifle, yet when the mission starts I'm holding my rifle. Shouldn't you start me out with the sidearms, so maybe I can get the hint?

    And the glitches and bugs in this game are terrible. The mechanics and game play sucks the living frustration out of you. You can't even control your horse. Your horse just decides how to ride through the woods and always ends up smashing into a tree or a rock. The shooting is kind of broken, you'll be dead on accurate with a gunshot, but the enemy will act like it didn't get hit. The cover system is a bit uneven, you'll go to cover behind a crate, yet you'll slide way over to a rock or something and be out in the open. There's the honor system, but who cares? I don't see it affecting much of the story, maybe just the ending, which isn't really much. The dead eye system is so slow and trying to move the eye around to hit multiple enemies always ends up taking too long and then it all just cancels out and didn't do anything and your meter is drained. Very annoying. Even the fishing mechanic sucks and I think they even fixed it some.

    I stopped playing this game midway when it first released and decided to play through again after a couple years to see if they fixed anything and not really. The game is just annoying and slow and frustrating. The only thing I love about this game is the actual world. It is gorgeous. And some of the side missions are actually pretty fun. Another annoying thing though, is if you mouth off to a pedestrian or accidentally bump into one, they will pull out a gun and fire at you, but if I pull out my gun in defense and shoot back, suddenly I'm the bad guy and have the entire law after me, what kind of logic is that?! Figure stuff out Rockstar! There is nothing rockstar about Rockstar Games anymore.    … Expand

    The game is beautiful, but the game play and its mechanics were terrible. I did not enjoy this game whatsoever. After 8 hours, I deleted it from my library. I was really looking forward to a good Western experience, but I think I got something more akin to reality, slow, dull, and short lived.

Сразу получай штрафы, законников и минус честь!!! Я просто прокачал стартовую лошадь так неплохо и она на одном тонике может проехать от одного конца карты до другого, а я поиграл от силы часов 30. Скорость лошади тут нафиг не нужна, ибо твоя лошадь все равно всегда всех догонитуедет от всех.

    Да, это ГТА с реализмом. Да, случайные события сделаны действительно классно, но деньги тут нужны не больше, чем в той же вайс сити, талисманы и амулеты бессмысленны, так как игры очень легкая, а это еще один ее минус. Абсолютно убогий сюжет и отсутствие влияние игрока на этот самый сюжет. Это просто ХОРОШАЯ игра.

    Это даже не уровень ГТА4. Искать дорогие машины и пытаться не разбить их, когда на них катаешься - круто. менять образ с быдлюка на солидного дядю, покупать недвижку, создавать банды - супер!! Беспределить и РЕАЛЬНО ИСПЫТЫВАТЬ ТРУДНОСТИ С МЕНТАМИ - КАЙ! ( А НЕ В СОЛО ПЕРЕСТРЕЛИВАТЬ ВЕСЬ ГОРОД БЕЗ ПРОБЛЕМ). Твою мать, даже шлюху в этой игре снять нельзя. I can't do missions or hunt and sell stuff cause I get booted before I can sell the stuff or earn cash and XP. It is a great game if the server works and you can actually enjoy it. I was so disappointed. Heartbroken. EVERYTHING is slow and finicky. Walking around is slow. Picking herbs. The progression. Rising a horse. So many systems are confusing. Bounty system. Saving never works properly. The cores are never explained. How to pay a bounty. How to commit crimes. This game feels like WORK. Excel would be more exciting. It feels like that being an accountant. Controls are so illogical. Talk is left trigger, shoot is right trigger. One minuscule mishap, and the whole town is shooting you down, and you end up with $100s in bounty - that's a lot of 50¢ animal pelts. From now on, every one shoots you on sight, so good luck completing missions to get money.

    Every single action has a long press. Why? Fishing has the same button to fish and to put away your gear. Means you always put your gear away when trying to fish.

    Everything feels so slow and sluggish. There are so many things to do, but I don't want to do any of them. Walking around in Rocky terrain is so stressful. The character howls in pain when falling off from a height of a foot or two. Rising is soooo dull. Fetch this there. Talk to the person at the other end of the map. Fetch this letter at the other end. Catch that guy or another. These look like missions we have done a million times in other games, which is fine, but SO MUCH GALLOPING. Basically out of 60 hours of the game, are we expecting to gallop for 50?

    I wouldn't be so mad if the horse wasn't so finicky. Every rock or wrong turn makes the horse collapse, red screen flashing, character ends up on the floor screaming. Get back on the horse, fall again in a few minutes. Overall, the story and main character is exactly the same as the first one. I cannot tell the difference between the protagonists of the two games. Outlaw with a big heart that redeems himself. The Abigail missions on the main track are so dumb. Basically women are portrayed as harpies that make men run around to save the day. "Save my son" "buy this ranch for me or I leave you"

    This is not a game, it's a cowboy simulator. Drab and boring and finicky like a flight simulator. If that's your idea of fun, go for it.    … Expand

    Single player is great but playing online is a fu***** disaster.
    Countless bugs making it nearly impossible to play that game online.

    Why this game is not in all platforms, like PC ??????? **** consoles and **** you R*, Ain't gone buy this game at all, I will just download with torrent, when game will be released in PC.

    It’s an huge, outstanding piece of art – worth the hard-earned cash as well as countless hours that are needed to get to know at least some of the attractions of Rockstar’s rendition of Wild West. For those who put story first – the biggest virtue of Red Dead Redemption 2 is that it sets the stage for RDR 1 and does it wonderfully. [13/2018, p.40]

    Amazing not only for Western lovers. No other game has probably offered so many options to express yourself in the open world, and at the same time did not have such an interesting, rough and moving story. A magnificent experience, with a slightly slower start. [Issue#291]
