Looks amazing! Seriously, I mean WOW! You do feel like you are in the SW world. Unfortunately it goes downhill from here.

Cons: 1. There is no story mode, so that limits your experience. The solo or co-op missions are severely lacking. It’s just do the same thing 15 times. No, seriously, that’s it. Really! 2. Controls are pretty unintuitive. They don't really let you map controls,
Looks amazing! Seriously, I mean WOW! You do feel like you are in the SW world. Unfortunately it goes downhill from here.

    Cons:

    1. There is no story mode, so that limits your experience. The solo or co-op missions are severely lacking. It’s just do the same thing 15 times. No, seriously, that’s it. Really!

    2. Controls are pretty unintuitive. They don't really let you map controls, just a choice of 2 in each option. Oddly placed the worst option as default. But that’s just my opinion. It may work for others… Maybe?

    3. This one really pissed me off, but the flying portion. It's less than half-assed. As an avid air combat game fan, this was piss poor on its best day.
    • The user doesn't really have full control (i.e steering). A pilot needs actual flight controls to, oh I don't know.... roll? : p

    • The radar is useless as it only shows a blue or red ball for a transport ship. Heaven forbid it shows something useful like the other craft around me, or the missile that was fired at me.

    • There is absolutely no real felling of speed and handling is pretty bad. No matter if at max speed or slowest speed, looks and feels like your going the same with the exception of your ship is closer or farther from the screen. Turning isn't tighter depending on your speed either, it's as if there is no G force. Which would have been forgivable, if you were in space! but all battles are on a planet! (Facepalm)

    • Controls could have been thought out far better, or let the user decide the button layout, as it was apparent they didn't know what the right way would be.

    • Default maneuvers are so useless that I wish they would have abandoned them and focused more on letting users use their own. Though it makes sense these were added with the existence of the other points. (i.e. Flight controls, radar, speed and maneuverability)

    • I could go on for hours on the implied lack of research or willingness to put in the work to this portion of the game. It's almost as if it was something they tagged on because they realized they hadn't put in enough.

    4. Speeder bike is a little difficult. Not a complaint, it’s challenging, which is good (albeit frustrating at times). Though there are a few spots the you blow up and you really shouldn’t as there’s not really anything there. At least that I could see.

    5. Online FPS has a problem in that you are frequently either spawned in the middle of a firefight, depending on the map. I typically found this to be true on Hoth (supremacy). Spawning to only last 2 seconds before a AT-ST standing 20 feet away blows you to hell, gets annoying. Now, other modes seem to have campers, which speaks more to possible lack of foresight to put in the code to not spawn at spot X if opponent present.

    6. Matching is pretty poor. If there is a team that is consistency plowing the other, the users should be swapped around to provide a more potentially enjoyable user experience. This is pretty standard these days, so I’ll assume that this is just a bug and not an oversight.

    7. Extremely limited in locations. For the time and effort put in to this game, I would have expected a fair bit more. Then again, I assume that this is where the money grab comes in with expansions. Surprise!!!

    8. Jumping… I mean there are so many places that you should be able to jump to, but can’t It’s pretty much an inch too high for you, so you can’t do it without a jetpack. I mean, you can just keep trying to jump while others laugh at and shoot you. That works too.

    Pros:

    1. Looks AMAZING! Yup, gonna say it again. Have to give them credit for that.

    2. As far as FPS online gameplay goes, it’s not bad. You get the feeling you are in SW for sure

    3. Supremacy mode is an awesome idea and for the most part, enjoyable

    Overall:

If you are a user that is looking to pick up a game that you’re going to play every now and again, you'll likely be disappointed / frustrated. If you're a gamer that'll spend 3-5hrs a day playing this, then you’re likely going to get over the controls and issues and just play the multiplayer only. Solo will bore you to the point you will ask why is this here? It’s more like a training / tutorial than gameplay.

Don't know what the diorama portion is for, but I’m not exactly enthralled with finding out. But hey, maybe it’s your thing. ;)

Overall I give this a 5 as I was extremely excited about this game. I bought the Ultimate-Supreme-Mega-Super-Omega version for the extras and season pass crap. Yeah, I thought it was going to be that good. Heh! Shows you there’s a sucker born every minute huh? They could still make this the game that us Star Wars fans were wanting and expecting (their advertising and releases set said expectations so I can’t take 100% responsibility for mismanaged expectations), but this means a lot of patches and bug fixes.

I certainly hope they do it, because I wasn’t so bad to like this game and play it as often as I had anticipate but this is up to them. Let’s see if they listen.

It has very little customization and what it does have is stupid, very few of the weapons are actually useful (again it has very little of them), which all makes the game modes seem bland. It would have been AMAZING if they had a single player campaign as well given the graphics but there is no sign that was even an idea they had.

This game feels incomplete and has very little resemblance to the original battlefronts. I only hope the DLC can fix some of this but I doubt it.

Let's start with the obvious in that there is no single player campaign or Galactic Conquest, and prequel content is made to sit on the sidelines this time. This means that genuinely cool planets and heroes can't be included because DICE and EA have either limited themselves or been limited by Disney.

Gunplay is bland, with little to no recoil. Vehicles are clunky and hard to control on some maps (of which there are disappointingly few), and there are only three heroes per faction. Overall, I am disappointed by this game.

This game has improved upon the graphics of the old games however that is as much credit that I can give it. This game could have been improved drastically if they merely had the old starwars battlefront 2 remade with better graphics. Instead we were given a basic COD game that had less maps and game modes and less character customisation with power ups scattererd accross the map like we were playing mario kart. This game is a failure on so many levels and I am happy to go back to ps2 in order to play a game that while it doesn't have fantastic graphics does have amazing gameplay and content . 2. focus on graphics: by focusing on graphics they didn't spend enough time fleshing out the mechanics. not mentioning repurposing envirmonents from BF1 & 2, well at least working from them. what keeps a gamer in the game is not the graphics it's the gameplay for multiplayer and the story for singleplayer. craphics come second at best. noone want to play a game that has holes in it's gameplay.

    Pros:
-The game has great graffics you can see very good details in everything and the storm trooper battle armor was highly detailed.
-The game is a fun shooter nothing really to special about its just another shooter with some vehicles.

    Cons:
-Not as good as the much older PS2 version!
    -The maps are small
-You have less freedom of movement, many maps funnel you instead of letting you move about freely throughout the battlefield which completely destroys any strategy
-No space battles, many like myself loved the space battles from the older game. They really could have done something amazing if they had taken the time to add that in
-No Single player campaign and no Galactic conquest. 100% multiplayer, as much as I love multiplayer its fun every now and then to play a single player campaign
-You cant just go and jump in a vehicle if you want to you have to find a vehicle marker which is like playing where's Waldo. then once you get the marker you disappear off the battlefield like a ghost?
-Very little vehicle action at all, your lucky to see more than 2 AT-ST's at the same time, the air vehicles are about the same maybe 4 to 6 in the air at one time and the air space you can fly is usually very small.

After waiting of years for a new Battlefront to come out I'm disappointing at the results. I expected more especially from the creators of one of my favorite games, Battlefield 4. This game feels dull in comparison to its much older counter part! How is it that a game that was made in 2004 is more fun than this game?

Overall, I am SO disappointed! If you played the original battlefront, go back! There is no space battles, I unlocked all the weapons in about a day, the character model unlocks all suck, you can't upgrade or modify the weapons like they said you would be able to, (like in Battlefield 3) and there are only 3 worlds (Endor, Hoth and Sullist). It looks like they put together the bare-bone-basics just to sell sell sell! The season pass costs $49.99 and I can't believe I WAISTED $69.99 on the preorder.

I did not have an unreasonable notion of how the game would be before it's release. I played Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2 back in the day, and hoped it would be similar, but with more upgrades, weapons and starfighter modes. (I especially loved the space battles) This game is a huge step back! It was like buying the Beta for $70.00.

There's no story mode, instead you have solo and co-op missions, which have no value after you've played once. Beyond that you have 9 online game modes, 7 of which are completely useless, and 4 maps at launch, which is just abysmal. At this point that $50 season pass (yes it's really $50) should be free. Free EA.

But this game is also missing the incredible moments you get from playing Battlefield. By the time you've played for 5 hours, you've already experienced everything that can happen, so there becomes less and less replay value as you go. Now I know what you're thinking: what about the heroes? I'd have to agree. Playing as the heroes, like Darth Vader, it looks awesome. This is probably the most unique thing about this game, but every time I finally get to play as a hero, the match is over within 45 seconds, like every DICE game ever.

    Verdict:
For a game in serious lack of variety, this is a huge oversight. Star Wars Battlefront is one of the most frustrating kinds of games. It's a concept with such huge potential that falls so flat upon release. It's shallow, it's dull, and you gotta pay $50 bucks to get more maps. I give this game a 4/10 in it's current state.

Where Battlefront fails to deliver is in content. What's in the game is incredibly highly polished and well made, but after only a few hours, I was already begging for more. Yes, I am a 'hardcore' gamer. Yes, I fall into the class of players that burns through content abnormally fast. But I am also a person that understands the difference between burning through content too fast, and there not being enough in the first place.

Thought there are 9 modes, and they each have something to offer, there are only 2 that people actually talk about and play. Fighter Squadron, and Walker Assault. Fighter Squadron might as well not have different maps, and Walker Assault only has four. These four maps are very well made and are massive, but after a couple hours, they just start looping.

The game offers some limited customization, but this does not offer as much variety as the Battlefield series or the pre-made classes in previous Battlefront games. Instead of filling a dynamic role on your team, you are just a dude with a gun, no matter what gun or other abilities you pick.

In a time where free-to-play or buy-to-play games with huge collections of content are increasingly common, a game as slim as Battlefront just doesn't cut it anymore. And the prices being charged for the all-but-required DLC are just plain insulting.

Unlike battlefield, there is no gun customization and there is only a handful of guns to actually choose from. On top of that, most guns are ecactly the same with a few minor differences. Almost all of them are automatic firing weapons. None of them are semi-auto and there are two that are burst fire. The only variations is the fire rate and damage.

You cannot put scopes on your weapon or change anything else on your weapon. The incredibly low level of customization ruined this game for me. I want my money back.

I'll be honest, the game was fun to play for the first few hours, after that it became lackluster and began feeling like a battlefield game disguised as a starwars title. In short, fun for the first few hours, it dies down after a while.

Seriously. What the hell? The critic score is 7+? Don't trust them. They are lying. You have to be honest! Where is the honesty? They have obviously received money from EA to write a good review for SWBF3. But no, they are not having that. See below.

    1. No campaign/story mode/Galactic conquests. SWBF1 and 2 have it. It's not great, but it's there. 2. Lacking in Single Player content.

    1. No campaign/story mode/Galactic conquests. SWBF1 and 2 have it. It's not great, but it's there.

    2. Lacking in Single Player content. Not much you can do with Single player. Repetitive. You don't even have the 40+ AI big battles like you do with the previous games.

    3. Only 5 planets(maps). Really? Even SWBF 1 has 15+

    4. No prequels. It's fun to play as clonetroopers/battledroids. Of course, maps too.

    5. No classes. In SWBF1, you can play as scout troop, rebel pilot... Here, just infantry.

    6. No vehicles. Seriouly. What? Unless you play specific modes, otherwise, the regular battle is just on foot. Even SWBF1, you can hop on ATSTs, X-wings, speeders... in just regular maps! And no Tauntauns in Hoth?

    7. Less heroes. Only 6? 10+ heroes in SWBF2. The controls are better too.

    8. No 3rd army. In SWBF1, you have Ewoks, Gungans, Wookies, Jawas, Sandpeople... Even Rancor!

    9. No 40+ AI game modes.

    10. No Command posts. I think that's just a good game mode, should have included it.

    11. The higher ground. You will be begging for the jetpack to recharge constantly. You jump, you fall back down. So bloody annoying. Then, you wait for probably 30 seconds before you can try again.

    12. My matching sucks **** The server is dead, only 5% for the Jakku map? Only 20% for the regular battles. I want to play a full room with 40+ players. My experience anyway.

Not to mention, overly overpriced. I mean, come on... Is that all you can offer. Here are the good sides though.

    1. Awesome graphics. 10/10. Spectacular. Amazing.

    2. Great sound effects. The voice acting is a bit weird. Han Solo says Things I can do for that princess. So cheesy... Damn.

    3. Air battles are cool, but no space battles. I think the targeting system is a splendid idea, but the controls are not as great.

    4. Multiplayers are good. Walker Assault mode, Supremacy mode... Why not have them in the Single Player?

    5. Sweet cutscenes. But what happened to the story????

All I can think of. So how can it possibly get 7+? Either because you are not honest! Or you have not played the previous games. Play them and then you will realised how lazy this one is.

I mean if you want to be lazy, you might as well just re-skin SWBF2, so at least we get the great gameplay with better graphics. Simple as that. Then add the Ep 7 stuff as DLC.

    Cons:
    - Hitboxes, they are HORRIBLE, you will be behind cover, not an inch of you poking out, yet a blaster bolt kills you by flying half a foot away from you
    - Heroes/Villans, they are extremely unbalanced, Rebs get two with Blasters that that can just strike from afar, the only good Villain is Boba Fett, but most people suck as him, they act like a regular Stormtrooper with him (in this game you gotta use him as a SNiper to be effective). Oh sure, Palpatine can heal other Villains...... but only *30* Health while Leia heals herself and heroes to *100*. Then you have Luke running around dodging blasters while Vader is tanking, but when he gets constantly hit, it drains his health, killing him.
    - Loadouts
    - Blasters, horribly, HORRIBLY, designed, and they get worse with every update, you get two Machinegun like blasters (forgot what that kind of blaster is called) almost when you start out, so you have level 5 people mowing you down in a hallway due to spray and pray, the EE-3 for regs is a POS, but the DL-44.... OP, OP, OP, I catch people SNIPING with it EFFECTIVELY! A Sniper Pistol! Then in CQC, two shots you die, literally, the first shots takes away 50 health, unless it;s upper torso, then 75, and head = dead unlike EVERY other weapon except the shotty.
    - Star Cards, horrible idea to begin with
    - No real Sniping (Star Cards Half-A** it)
    - Blast Radius, you see this tiny little explosion, yet you die from it being 15 yards away like it landed at your feet wtf
    - Dog Fights, unbalanced, Rebs have better tech then the Imps (lore-breaking)
    - Walker Assualt, HAHAHAHAHAHA Good Luck winning as the Empire, it's easy for the Rebs to win on the first two Stations since they just keep getting more and more Y-Wings as they hold them, the Imps have to take BOTH to get rid of the Y-Wings, one isn't good enough, plus the Rebs can attack the AT-ATs on their own when the attack commences, including with Starfighter pickups and Snowspeeders with tow-cables
    - Endor, I get it, it's famous, but the Rebels get camo where they can blend in almost 100% fine, while the Empire sticks out like a yellow pimple on the tip of your nose
    - Matchmaking is Horrible, worse than most Battlefield games (and I LOVE those games)
    - Team mates seem to have missing brain cells half the time, all they do is Rush head on, sometimes not even firing
    - Spawns are Horrid, there are about two or three spots on each map your team can spawn at, so it's easy to get Spawn Trapped
    - DeSync, De-synchronization, basically the worst lag, in some games it will always kill you, just play or watch ARMA, this happens a lot in this game, even if you have perfect Internet Connection
    - Can get stuck trying to run across a Small rock and can't mantle over even simple objects
    - Many, MANY more....

    Pros:
    - Star Wars
    - It's Canon and Says Boba Lives
    - Good Graphics
    - Trolls your friends by telling them it's awesome, and laugh as they just wasted $60 (con if your that friend)
    - Your character reacts to nearby explosions and shots landing

I love the missions part single player better than the multiplayer on a game that relies on multi player is a problem. With other titles like destiny and call of duty on the market i feel like dice/ea are relying heavily on the star wars hype to sell titles instead of a deep immersive game. The issue I have with multiplayer is that its every man for them selves and they neglected to add chat much like destiny in its early days, and then there are the poorly executed and ill-conceived challenges for the multiplayer most are reasonable then others are infuriating, joy killing acts like 15 kills with an at-at which sounds easy until you realize you have to play walker assault, be an imperial and find the powerup before anyone else which only 2 will spawn. I wish they had taken a page from destiny with its open world approach and some more co-op stuff i would love a death star raid to kill the emperor or could city to capture solo. The game has its moments but they are fleeting and only tend to happen if you find a good team or pick up a hero power-up I would suggest waiting till the other dlc releases then buy it in the complete edition that tends to drop after 6 months or so. First I have the main complain that everyone else, where is the campaign mode ? Sure the guys from EA will tell you that there is some solo content, but honestly its almost nothing a surviving mode limited to 15 waves and some tutorials, that's no where near what the first Battlefront offered with an actual campaign that takes you to a lot of different locations with a little story etc... The interest of the game is purely online and like all the online-only FPS I saw on console there is not sufficient content (weapons, characters, vehicules, maps and modes) to justify a full retail price in my eyes. But let's be clear on one point there is no less content in Battlefront that there was in Evolve, Plants VS Zombies or Titanfall, they are all lacking content in my eyes.

Now lets talk about the best thing in the game : the technical side. The sound is amazingly nostalgic, the graphics are gorgeous and after 45 hours of gameplay (the time it took me to reach the level cap) there's almost no bug since the launch of the game.

Gameplay wise the game is a pretty classic FPS except for the Heroes and Villains that change the setting with a gameplay closer to MOBAs, every mode has its for and cons and you'll probably find something that suits you the best, unfortunately there is some balancing problems, you'll most likely never see the imperials win a Fighter Squadron match, Boba Fett is really annoying with his jet pack that allows him to flee too easily, etc...

All in all Battlefront is a fun multi-player game, that suffers from the classical lack of content curse of multi-player-only games and from balancing problems, but the gorgeous looks, MOBAs mechanics and large scale battles maintain the game on the good side of video games. Advisable for Star Wars fan if you find it on sale.

The multiplayer aspect of the game is undoubtedly nostalgic and fun, but surprisingly shallow and repetitive with only a handful of maps and fewer unique game modes. Balance continues to be an issue, a server browser is nonexistent, and the weapons are fundamentally the same. Although the Star Wars faithful will love this experience, it is difficult to classify this game as a AAA title worthy of the $60 asking price, let alone the $120 Deluxe Edition. Expand

So I am going to start with the good parts of Battlefront. The graphics are great the soundtrack is also great. Dice also managed to somehow capture the magic of Star Wars. From the dogfights with X-Wings and Tie Fighters down to how detailed and awesome Endor looks and feels. Endor looks amazing and is probably the best Star Wars map I have seen to date. You can really see how much effort EA put into some of the bigger maps such as Endor and Hoth. Now if only they would've done so with the rest of this game. The biggest problem with Battlefront is that this entire game feels rushed. Only 4 planets and 12 maps at launch is a huge disappointment. The worst part about this is that they have already confirmed 16 maps for the season pass. More maps as DLC than in the main game? That's low even for EA. Most of the maps aside from Hoth and Endor feel rushed and plain. The ice caves and the sand dunes all feel the same. They feel as if they were sloppily put together with little or no effort. Most of modes are pretty boring and average. You have your 20v20 modes such as Supremacy and Walker assault which are pretty much the only modes people are going to be playing. I had the opportunity to play Walker assault during the beta and to my surprise it was actually pretty fun. It wasn't perfect but I had a blast with it. Sadly EA has decided to change and dumb down most of the mode probably because of casuals complaining about how it was too hard for rebels to win or something. So a mode that use to take cooperation and effort to win (as the Rebels for the most part) has been dumbed down so much that you could probably be shooting into the sky and still win as the rebels. The weapons also feel dumbed down in both range and damage. Another part of this game I was really excited for was the Fighter Squadron mode. Granted it was no space battles but it looked really fun from the trailer. Sadly EA decided to go and make it 20v20 but with a catch. 10 real people on each team and 10 AI on each team. What the hell??? So half of the time you would be killing AI instead of people. Killing ships are also extremely easy it takes zero skill or effort. I managed to go on a 20 killsteak from just holding down L2 and shooting blindly. They have also decided to include heroes into the mix. You have 2 heroes you can play as, The Millennium Falcon or Slave 1. The biggest problem with the heroes is that they're too op. Now I know what your thinking the heroes are suppose to be op that's what makes them fun. But I have literally spent matches where I am behind Slave 1 the whole time shooting and firing missles only to do less than half damage. It's practically impossible to kill these heroes unless your entire team is on their ass. The biggest problem with Battlefront is the lack of content. Within 5 hours of this game I had already played everything in it! In the end Battlefront is a average game that was sloppily put together and rushed out to market by EA. However that's not to say that it's a awful game. I still managed to have some fun running around as Boba Fett or Han Solo shooting people. Dice has managed to really capture Star Wars perfectly in some aspects of the game (such as sound design, visuals, vehicles, music, etc) and you can really see what parts of the game that they really worked hard on and those parts are the best part of this game. In the end I would give this game a 6/10 and it's probably worth buying after a price drop and some updates. Expand

The graphics are incredibly beautiful but the gameplay lacks depth. There are only four maps to play, which are also incredibly small. I'm annoyed by not being able to explore the maps. DICE spent as little time as they could on the single player mode and I hate online video games. It's basically a gimmick to force you to spend money on PSN-Plus. Sony's probably thinking, "Hey, if you don't have PSN Plus, you can't access the majority of the game content, so we're going to package PS4s with a game that you can only play online." Bologna, I say.

If you've got the system already, I would only buy this game if you are obsessed with first-person-shooters and multiplayer. If you are expecting any depth, I'm sorry to say this isn't a game for you. Playstation really needs to either make PS4 totally backwards compatible or make new versions of the original battlefront and battlefront ii for PS4. Because, quite frankly, my PS2 is getting old and sluggish.

    Things EA Battlefront lacks:
    1) Storyline
    2) Interesting maps
    3) Space battles
    4) Singleplayer playability (minimal selection of game modes)
    5) Splitscreen playability (minimal selection of game modes)
    6) Federation vs Republic
    7) Did I mention Depth???

Oh yeah and there's no Galactic Conquest. That was always my favorite part of Battlefront II...

I would say this game is probably worth about $20. Don't spend $60 on a game like this unless you are obsessed with multiplayer FPSs. Video games have so much potential as a form of art -- combining literature, graphics, and interactivity. Pure FPSs miss the literary and interactive aspects. Then again, maybe I'm not like most gamers... I still play Myst :P

Negatives (which there are many), limited maps, very limited characters, limited game modes, Season Pass (that costs as much as the game itself) that does not tell you what you will actually be getting!

The controls of the fighters are terrible and not having any space battles in a star wars battlefront game is practically sacrilege!

Its these types of business practices that earn EA a ton of money but also the scorn and hate of every gamer.

I get that EA needed to get Battlefront out of the door in time for the the force awaken's but releasing a game in such a limited state only hurts the franchise as a whole but we all know that EA will have made a solid chunk of cash from all the kids wanting to play a Star Wars game after seeing the movie.

Well done EA for taking advantage of children and shame on you for putting out such a limited game!

I was looking forward to this game. Now, 2 weeks after buying it from the PS store, I feel like I am still waiting for the whole thing to come out. The visuals are amazing. Combat is solid. Heroes and villains are a joy to play and balanced well. Survivor and tutorial missions are fun. But in the end, the lack of content holds this game back from the brilliance it could have achieved. No couch co-op except in tutorial and survival modes! No single player content that will hold your interest for more than an hour or two. Very few modes and no ability to play maps solo with bots. There is not enough content to justify the price. And NOTHING could justify a $50 season pass. Wait for the inevitable complete edition when it comes out in 6 months. Expand

I kind of like the game despite its flaws. But the parts that make it good, are why it's flaws are so disappointing. It could have been amazing, instead it is just OK.

    PRO's:

    - Great graphics, and runs very smoothly on PS4

    - Great sound effects

    - Play as iconic Star Wars heroes and vehicles such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, AT-ST, etc.

    - Shooting feels good and immersive (to me, some people don't seem to like it).

    - Lots of modes (9 I think, although only 2 or 3 are actually the main modes that most people will want to play).

    - Mode Walker Assault is a really cool idea for a mode set in the Star Wars universe, and it is generally a lot of fun.

    CON's:

    - LACK OF MAPS! There are essentially only 4 (!) maps for the most important modes (Walker Assault and Supremacy). The maps of both of these modes are rehashes of each other. There are some other maps for the other modes, but these also feel like different areas of the same 4 maps. I understand they only created 4 planets and 4 tile sets essentially, but they didn't bother to create some variety within these planets either. So basically 4 maps you play over, and over, and over. The maps are at least pretty big I guess.

    - The vehicles are not stationary on the map, but rather powerups that you can pick up. This means there is no actual feeling of realism when it comes to the actual battle. Also it is completely random whether or not you will happen upon a certain vehicle, which takes away the freedom of strategizing your battle, such as is possible in Battlefield games. The other thing about this is that you cannot go and destroy the other team's vehicles to mess with them, which is a shame.

    - You cannot get 2 people in a vehicle, only solo: This is a point that is not mentioned often, but I find the most annoying of all. In Battlefield games, a big part of the teamwork comes from the fact that you can be in a vehicle with teammates, and wreak havoc, capture control points together, etc.. The fact that all vehicles are solo only here makes it just so that you rack up more kills, and maybe help your team in the process, but it doesn't feel like it contributes a lot to the overall battle or tactics. This is compounded by the previous point that they are powerups, so you cannot even get them when you want.

    - No teamplay to speak of. This is related to the previous point. Also there is no chat, so you cannot strategize with teammates.

    - The air vehicles are completely useless to the battlefield. They only serve to destroy each other, and even then their handling is terrible. As a ground unit, I have NEVER, EVER been killed by an air unit. The only minor usefulness is in walker assault when the vehicles can help destroy the AT-AT's for a brief period when they are vulnerable.

    - Aim assist in a bit too generous, which makes it even more shallow than it already is, and takes away the skill aspect. It is okay for me, because I am terrible at console shooters, but this might be a big deal for some people.

Overall, I don't think this game deserves the awful Metacritic user score it has been getting. However, it is just so disappointing, because with a few different choices in game design, it could have been a spectacularly good game. Right now, it is just a fun little shooter for a while, but the lack of maps and depth in the gameplay means you will get bored of it quickly.

For years I have enjoyed one of my favorite games of all time, Star Wars: Battlefront II. So when I heard they were making a new Battlefront, I was beyond thrilled. I knew they couldn't possibly mess it up because at the very least, all they had to do was give battlefront 2 new graphics and I would love it (obviously I expected more).

    They messed it up...

It's incredibly depressing to say that they gutted all the variety and ingenuity that made the original battlefronts so unique. What is left is a game with little variety, and lacking in content.

To start, there are no classes anymore. This would be alright if the blasters weren't so similar. There are currently 11 primary blaster, and many feel very similar. The main modes, walker assault and supremacy only have 5 maps. There is only empire era (episode 4-6). The new space battles take out all the things that made the space battles of battlefront II so great, to the point where it's not even worth playing them at all. The vehicles are very limited and rarely add much to a battle. Just, nothing feels unique anymore and is lacking any variety. Battlefront II, a game that came out 10 YEARS AGO, should not be the game with this much more variety and content. I could go on for hours comparing everything in this game and how battlefront II did it better, but it would take too much time to come full circle to what I have already said, the original battlefronts were better. What's even worse is EA/DICE already have announced their DLC WHICH COSTS 50$!?!?!?! If in some fantasy world, these DLC make the game an actual full game, that means I would be paying 110$. That's an atrocity.

The ONLY thing I can say about this game is that it has some of the best graphics I have ever seen. This might be the most visually impressive game ever created.

Overall, the new battlefront is incredibly depressing and not worth 60$. It's probably not even worth 30$ in its current state. Those who haven't played the, far superior, predecessors, you may get a solid 5 hours of enjoyment out of this. For those, like me, who have logged countless hours into the old games, you will most likely find yourself incredibly disappointed and probably a little dirty knowing you paid full price for this shell of a game

I couldn't have been more happy to see what EA would have to offer with this new Battlefront game. And boy, did my excitement drain out quickly!! This is a disgrace to the old Battlefront games and just shows how thirsty EA is very money. Without the release of the new Star Wars movie this wouldn't have had any chance in making any money. It lacks any replay ability as it gets boring after just a few rounds of different modes. And it completely lacks any single player or offline modes!!!! Yes they are there, but they are the most boring, lazy attempts at any type of offline mode. If you don't have online then this is a complete waste of money, and with the promise of "Season Pass Content" This game is a complete joke. DO NOT BUY THE SEASON PASS!!!!!!! You are wasting your money on stuff that should be in a 60-70 dollar game. Instead you are buying 1 game for the price of 2!!!! The only way companies will stop milking your money away from you is if you STOP buying their crap!!!!! Complete waste of a game and money, the only enjoyment is the sound effects and visuals. DO NOT FALL FOR GOOD GRAPHICS. YES YOU MIGHT WANT THE ADDITION OF GOOD GRAPHICS BUT IT SHOULD BE GAMEPLAY AND STORY OVER GRAPHICS. Some of the greatest games are games that are from decades ago and yet they still have me playing them because of how fun and you can replay them over and over again without getting bored. 1/10 DO NOT BUY!!!!!!! Star Wars: Storefront... quickly becomes boring as you begin to realize the lack of content and game modes. This game isn't even up to par with the PSP releases. I can't even begin to unleash my frustration on such a beautiful looking game; the sounds. The graphics. All amazing DICE did an amazing job on re-creating the Star Wars Battlefront experience in a graphical way.
"So why only a 1 for a rating?"

This game lacks the content that it deserves.
I understand with previous games that DICE has created such as the battlefield series they are perfectly capable of making realistic action shooter games with a lot of great of great content and great experiences. But I'm not here to talk about battlefield... We're here to talk about Battlefront.
First of all the Server connection... Oh God... How horrible they are. I cant count the number of times where i take a good chunk of my game session to actually find a game, then to my luck or server location, only to find that yet again I have a bad connection (and keep in mind. I have a cable connection direct to my modem.)
Also the lack of content... I could go on for hours on how minimal the content in this game is. Instead of a good single player campaign or any campaign for that matter they replaced it with some sort of training mode along side the survival mode, which keep in mind. you have to play with a friend or by yourself.
There was SO SO much potential with this game, and i find it sad that EA had to ruin it... DICE, keep up the good work... EA... Go **** yourself

It's not the most complex shooter, but it's the ideal pick-up-and-play experience for Star Wars fans. Stunning environments, solid shooting and immersive sound design mask the shortcomings. [Jan 2016, p.82]

With the new film of the space opera saga finally on the big screen and the release of Battlefront's new sequel, both after a decade overdue, it is definitely the best time to be a Star Wars fan. The game itself is a dream-come-true for fans, and the Star Wars spectacle is strong in this one. However, if it is depth and longevity you seek... this is not the game you are looking for.

Spectacular production values help to make this game enjoyable in the early going, but it soon enough shows that it is painfully lacking in terms of maps and depth in its current form. [Issue#265, p.72]
