Dec 5, 2018Combat does get harder later, but it stops short of doing anything new or interesting. But it does its job well enough for a parent to steal the controller of their kid for a few battles. That old rivalry with Star Wolf needs to be settled.

Oct 26, 2018The "toys-to-life" mechanics are very well implemented -although not essential- in this beautiful and well crafted open-world space shooter. If you can overlook its repetitive nature and the absolute chore that are the side missions, in Starlink you'll find a quite enjoyable experience suitable for young and older gamers alike.

Oct 22, 2018Starlink offers a refreshing view on toys-to-life with a lot more seriousness than its competitors. Its an expensive one though.

Oct 18, 2018With or without the unnecessary toys, Starlink: Battle for Atlas is a commendable space adventure. Even with the repetitive grind and randomly scattershot space combat, this is a great-looking, gratifying game of strategic action and environmental exploration. Switch owners are undoubtedly the winners, but there’s something here to enjoy on any platform.

Oct 17, 2018Clearly, Starlink: Battle for Atlas is repetitive and its storytelling is more than conventional. But the dogfight and the big open world are just so much fun. A good addition to the toys/video games cross-over.

Oct 15, 2018Starlink is an interesting and enjoyable open-world game, one that fully understands the appeal of exploring new planets and dogfighting in the cold depths of space. With a small fleet of ships at your disposal, it can be a lot of fun to progressively assault and weaken the Forgotten Legion's hold on the galaxy. It's just a shame that if you're interested in the physical models, you'll have to spend more to get the same experience as the digital version.

Oct 15, 2018Starlink doesn’t have many bells and whistles as a game, but the figures are just so dang cool and easily customizable that I can see it really appealing to a wide swath of people. The core gameplay is fine and while it’s nothing to write home about, it does enough to support what comes together as a very impressive experience. Starlink doesn’t redefine the toys-to-life genre, but it does have some of the most beautiful figures I’ve seen and a pretty good game to complement them too.

Nov 11, 2018Colorful and action-packed space opera with a funny toys-to-life component. Deductions for the outrageous pricing policy.
-
Oct 19, 2018Starlink: Battle for Atlas has moments of exciting combat, neat customization, and some engaging mechanics. However, this new intergalactic action adventure suffers an engine misfire due to a ton of repetition, occasionally awkward controls, and a lackluster story.
-
Oct 21, 2018Starlink: Battle for Atlas can’t decide whether to take its toys-to-life concept seriously, or drop it completely. It has a good, if somewhat repetitive, open world experience to offer, but it’s held back by mistakes that aren’t entirely its own fault.

Playstation Official Magazine UKNov 14, 2018A good core experience with novel ideas stifled by a disproportionately high price tag, embarrassing amounts of repetitive filler, and pay-to-win mechanics. [Issue#156, p.87]
