At the risk of sounding overly infatuated, I cannot begin to understand how the hell Torchlight II has aged so well. The art style, combat mechanics, and even loot drop loop are so finely tuned that it feels like the game fits in as well now as it did, seven years ago.

Torchlight II for consoles remains true to the one that captivated us on PC and it adapts perfectly to desktop platforms.

Torchlight 2 is a good porting for an old good game. If you are looking for a Diablo-like waiting the next chapter, maybe this could be your game.

Seven years after its initial release, Torchlight 2 finally graces the console generation and proves that you don't have to have Diablo in your title to make an impact. Torchlight 2 is a near-perfect dungeon crawler that no fan of the genre can afford to miss.

The constant hunt for the bigger better loot shows its age here and then - but still packs quite a punch. Just don’t expect a local co-op mode.

As a budget Diablo III clone, Torchlight II delivers a solid chunk of hacky, slashy, looty gameplay and gets better as the game gets harder. However, it doesn't offer any real innovations and seems creatively unambitious even by the standards of a sub-genre that already struggles to break away from its conventions.

Torchlight II is an older title that feels its age at times. Nevertheless, it remains a solid example of its genre and will keep you occupied for hours on end. Multiplayer, an expansive upgrade system, and a sea of worthwhile loot make up for the repetitive gameplay.

People biught unpolished, unfinished game. Even though it is already there for the PC. Some of the major stuff have been removed in regards to the original. Multiplayer is with randoms only, no room to search. MP is unstable. Skills of the classes (mostly teleporting ones) are getting you stuck everywhere. Bugs eith infinite negative xp and gold bricks your game. Randomly crashing throughout the maps. This should not be considered as a port of a PC game to console. But a separate game similiar to torchlight, just not so well done. Good job guys! Full Review »

When you realize the engineer pet tree has 5 pets alone leaving no room for combat skills, and that pets despawn when switching zones it becomes incredibly frustrating to use any kind of functional build with only 5 buttons. Torchlight 1 and even steam controller profiles for Torchlight 2 had 12 skills plus potions and gear swapping... the fact that 3 dpad buttons and neither of the click sticks (L3/R3) do anything useful shows that not only is the system totally dysfunctional but they didn’t even look at previous iterations of controls that were extremely successful. No research done on effective controller implementation whatsoever. Even a simple map swap using dpad toggles or holding L2 would fix this... They need to update it before I change my rating. Then considering the example set by diablo 3 and even Titan quest which included updated features like couch co-op and loot 2.0, neither of which Torchlight 2 console has (in fact they stripped a ton of features like skill and buff counters, pet controls and even gear swapping for the charge mechanic - another key gameplay element), Torchlight deserves even a lower score in my opinion Full Review »
