Capcom Arcade Stadium - Official Update Trailer | Nintendo Direct
Mar 10, 2021Even without a museum to sate that historian interest, Capcom Arcade Stadium is a fantastic compilation. The game list has a nice mix of familiar classics and hidden gems, with the usual quality of life touches, rotating special challenges to keep things fresh, and charming, nostalgic presentation. It’s also the collection that finally brought the bullet hell masterpiece Progear to console, and that alone is worth the price of admission.
Mar 11, 2021Capcom does not dust off its classics here because they have never lost their shine. The collection of thirty-two games that we find here has always been an eternal present. Young people will also find the interest of the challenges and the online ranking. Arcade Stadium is a very attractive compilation that knows how to expand its legacy.
Feb 21, 2021What keeps Capcom Arcade Stadium of having a perfect score, is the lack of Online Multiplayer and certain beloved games, that would otherwise elevate this title to new heights. That said, it's an excellent trip to the past, with a good amount of content and tons of replayability. Certainly, a way of reminding us old-schoolers why we loved Capcom in first place and how empty our wallets were due to their arcade dominance. The Nintendo Switch received another great entry to its already big roster.
Feb 24, 2021Overall, Capcom Arcade Stadium is a very good package filled with brilliant games, each updated with modern functionality. It doesn’t rival the quality of original hardware or the likes of M2’s sublime individual ports of arcade masterworks as seen with the release of Esp.Ra.De Psi, but at £30 for 32 games, it is well worth the price, warts and all.
Mar 5, 2021The difference between Capcom Arcade Stadium and other compilations that Capcom published in the past lies mainly in the quality of their presentation and the variety of options available to make the experience optimal for each user. The emulation is not perfect, but the intent is laudable and beyond pretense, this is a collection of games that should be enjoyed for what it is and nothing more.
Feb 22, 2021If you're interested in reliving some of Capcom's past glory, it's never been easier to do so with Capcom Arcade Collection. A wealth of customization options allows players to fine-tune their experience like never before. However, the lack of bonus features and a lineup that could've been more varied stop this collection from reaching a new high score.

Even if you have access to all these titles through 'other methods' of emulation, this is the best way to play these old favourites thanks to all the customisation options, the rewind feature and the speed control function. This package is worth it just for the shooting games alone - Giga Wing, Progear, 1944 and 19XX are amongst the best arcade shooters EVER produced. Then throw in 3 Street Fighter 2 games, some quality brawlers like Battle Circuit and Powered Gear and classics like Strider, Ghouls 'n Ghosts and Final Fight and you have an outstanding compilation! This really is a 'must buy' for any retro gaming enthusiast! I'm so glad I purchased this and I'm really looking forward to the release of more bundles in the future to build on this fantastic collection. Great job Capcom!… Expand

For around $40 you get 32 games ranging from the very early days up to early 2000's titles like Progear. What you get are mostly great entries, but there is some unnecessary overlap with 3 versions of Street Fighter 2, and the variety of games basically boils down to platforming, shmups, fighting, and beat em ups with an emphasis on shmups and beat em ups.
The game modes available are really fun, and give a score-chasing element like you'd get if you were actually at the arcade. This is aided by the presentation of each game on a cabinet of your choosing, with options to change filters, cabinet type, or regular screen presentation with border images.
Some of the earlier games have poor scaling, not quite filling up as much screen real estate as they should, and I've heard some games have some moderate emulation issues, but as a relatively casual player I didn't notice any issues with the vast majority of the games.
Overall, a great collection of games with a few issues, and at a pretty reasonable price even before any sales. Give it a shot.… Expand

Even with justI only got the free package so far, that includes one game (1943), plus a second game for a limited time (Ghosts 'n Goblins). Even with just one or two games, it's already clear that this is one of the best retrogaming packages on the Switch. I'll probably buy the three game packs.
- GREAT GAMES: With a back catalog like this, Capcom can't go wrong. Many of these games are classic masterpieces that made arcade history.
- GREAT EMULATION: Multiple video options, TATE mode… You won't be longing for accuracy here.
- PLENTY OF MODERN AMENITIES: From "cheat modes" like save states and instant rewind to detailed online leaderboards, this virtual arcade has all the modern bells and whistles.
- YOU CAN'T CHERRY PICK: The additional games can only be bought as three large packages, not individually.
- NO HISTORICAL DETAILS: The games are great, but it would have been nice to see some historical notes and additional material.
- LEAVES YOU LONGING FOR MORE: Not really a "con", but a couple of my favorites early Capcom arcade games aren't among the available packages. I'm crossing fingers for more packages!… Expand

What a weird flex) but there are frame skipping issues across the entire swath of games in this collection. Not mentioning the aspect ratio issues plaguing several of these games, it's impossible to make these games actually look good because things just run so poorly. Maybe someone who hasn't been emulating these on Pentium 2 processors decades ago can't tell that the games are running awful, but if nobody mentions it, it's never going to get fixed, so I'm mentioning it. These games run awful. It may be because they're encapsulated in an engine unfit for arcade cabinet emulation (lol), it may not be, but the fact remains, gross. Do not spend $40 until they fix this.
The value is certainly here if they can patch it, but it's not up to the task of impressing anyone who knows how these games SHOULD be running and SHOULD look.… Expand
