As with many a music rhythm game that has come before, Frederic: Resurrection of Music requires players to play notes as they fall down the screen. The game can be played using the shoulder and face buttons of the Switch but it is clearly designed, and far less fiddly, to play using the touchscreen.

Frederic isn’t a terrible game, and the remixes of Chopin tunes are pretty good, but

Frederic isn’t a terrible game, and the remixes of Chopin tunes are pretty good, but this concept has been used so many times that it all just feels far too familiar. If I’m going to play a game in this genre the plastic instruments and opportunity to play/sing along with your favourite songs that games like Rock Band offer will win every time I’m afraid...

Way too easy and boring even on the hardest setting. There is nothing that makes this rhythm game enjoyable. The notes that drop off the screen seem too difficult to guess the correct timing and too close together to be able to read them properly. I didn't care about the "Back to the Future" story line, and the classical music played on modern/80's instruments did not make for a fun orWay too easy and boring even on the hardest setting. One of the craziest ideas for a plotline ever is matched by a pretty enjoyable game. And it's really cheap on the eShop, which can only be a bonus.

Better a fun short game than a long game with lots of padding, though, as far as I’m concerned. Frederic: Resurrection of Music is pretty enjoyable for what it is — and, as a bonus, you get to feel all cultured once it’s all over for having played a game built entirely around classical music.

This is a creative and curious title that, although it plainly borrows the format of Guitar Hero, manages to have an unique personality and is attractive. What doesn't convince us is the mechanical and underdeveloped repetition, together with the light amount of content that it offers.
