Jul 20, 2018Heroki combines the premise of infinite flight with a potpourri of platformer elements. Its beautiful art style and adorable mascot hearken back to classic 16-bit adventures. The ability to fly instead of run is refreshing, and Heroki’s responsive controls lessen frustration. This helps when exploring the compact mazelike levels that are abundant with secrets. It may not be a hard game, but less experienced players and those who loved the heyday of 2D sidescrollers can appreciate this true blue hero.

Jul 13, 2018Heroki is very well built and it’s very fun. Despite some inaccuracies in the control and some mechanics that end up being somewhat repetitive we are undoubtedly before a great video game.

Jul 19, 2018Looking at the colorful art, smooth animations, and strong level design, someone clearly loves Heroki. It isn’t me, but Heroki can be a great fit for younger players or those looking to unwind. Heroki is a light breeze perfect for between naps on a long summer road trip, just don’t expect to remember it when something else blows by.

Jul 19, 2018Heroki is a bright and calming adventure game that can provide a simple level of entertainment for players of all skill levels and abilities, but never quite pushes itself far enough to be the experience it could have been. It ticks all of the boxes and gets the job done, with easy-to-understand controls, addictive collectable-grabbing gameplay - and even a nice little side quest area - but never breaks out of those metaphorical boxes to give us something that can truly amaze. A nice little game on the whole, then, just a little on the simple side.
-
Sep 2, 2018Heroki is not the most innovative game ever made but that does not stand on its way from being a fun and entertaining 2D platform experience. While it still keeps many of the traits of a mobile game, Hiroki's accessible and simple control system, as well as its level design and collectibles that keep the player interested will help make this another enjoyable experience in the Nintendo Switch.
-
Dec 6, 2018Heroki is a serene platformer where you take your time and discover every secret at your own pace without much danger involved, making it a relaxing experience. It has pacing issues in that it takes a long time before you get to do anything different, but if you're fine with that, play Heroki between some of the more hectic titles out there.
-
Feb 4, 2019As beautiful as Heroki may be, its gameplay unfortunately doesn’t compliment its design, making for an unfortunately mediocre platformer.
