PictoQuest is an endearing Picross-style RPG that might not offer the depth and breadth of similar Picross games, but it makes up for its simplicity with an adorable presentation and smartly-implemented RPG ideas. In some respects, it doesn’t go all that far, but being based around what I’d term as a relaxing puzzle game, it doesn’t really have to.

If you’re looking for a fun Picross title to play for an affordable price, PictoQuest has got you covered. While a bit too overbearing with its action elements, the new mechanics and tried-and-true Picross puzzles are sure to engage beginners and veterans alike.

A cool little puzzler for those who want something with more personality than the usual Picross game. [Issue #43 – November/December 2019, p. 24SW]

PictoQuest is a nice mix between Picross puzzles and old-school RPG mechanics. But despite its lovely charm and big Picross grids, NanoPiko adventure should have aimed for a tiny bit of challenge, instead of taking every player by the hand.

Picross veterans may be disappointed with PictoQuest's lack of challenge but there's no denying that it's a solid and cute little game.

ThatSolid Picross gameplay, with a pleasant visual theme, just a couple new ways to play, and enough puzzles to leave you hungry for more. That last part is really my only complaint. I beat this inside of a week, playing only 30-60 minutes a day. There really need to be more puzzles and more content. I'd be willing to Shell out a higher price tag for a larger game than this, perhaps even some DLC to extend it. Alas. Jupiter isn't known for extending their games, so at best I think we MIGHT get a sequel sometime in the next year (if it goes longer than that. I wouldn't hold my breath on it ever happening.). Reappy though, my one sole complaint is that it's just too short Expand

Nice concept for a Picross game. However it lacks of content, can be beaten in less than 10 hours.
