Splitter Critters is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. An engaging puzzle game that provides a challenging experience that gradually expands. This is all wrapped up in a distinctive paper constructed world that’s waiting to be ripped apart.

The ability to split and realign the world is used in all kinds of fun and unexpected ways, leading to some incredibly innovative level designs.

The controls when the Switch is docked work nicely, but this game really excels when you use the touch screen. The controls, mechanics, and puzzle designs work flawlessly together. Combine that with the relaxing art and atmosphere, and this creates a satisfying puzzle game you can immerse yourself into.

The only issue is that it's a bit of a weird difficulty curve, with the first few worlds too easy to really describe as a puzzle. They're more about getting you used to the game mechanics, and they're enough fun that this never bothered me until I replayed the game a few months later.

Overall I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a clever, compelling, and intuitive puzzle game.
