Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage is a great opportunity to discover one of the best videogames about snowboarding and one of the best well-finished games in Wii. If you love snow, you'll love this title.
-
With more of everything, plus a couple of neat new features, World Stage is an icy blast.
-
Apart from MotionPlus support, there isn't a whole lot new in World Stage. Ubisoft has certainly played it safe with a short and unimaginative campaign. But it's hard to knock the Balance Board controls-they totally make the Shaun White experience, and make it a pleasure to revisit the virtual slopes, sameness and all.
-
Ubisoft plays it safe by offering only small changes in sight to the winning formula last year. The chronic lack of online mode is still there. The series still has much potential that still hasn't developed yet.
-
Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage manages to convince on the looks en variety part but seriously lacks on a distinctive gameplay-style. The controls in combination with the Wii Balance Board are a bit hard to master for those who are inexperienced boarders. Luckily the Wii-controller on it’s own works just fine, which is a big plus for anyone looking for a snowboard experience on the Wii.
-
Like its predecessor, World Stage is one of the best multiplayer racers on Nintendo's family-friendly console. But you can't escape the feeling that it's a lazy effort.
-
While not flawed, it's devoid of substance. For the rest of us, there are superior options -- from this generation as well as the last -- to indulge in armchair snowboarding thrills.
