Marvel’s Avengers is a well accomplished game and a must have for Marvel fans. All the characters are fleshed out in their personality and fighting styles and the campaign is a ride any fans of comic book movies will enjoy. I didn’t fully enjoy the combat in this game but I can get past that in order to enjoy the rest of the experience. I am sure they have left plenty of room to expand the game further with extra characters and missions to extended the longevity of the game.

Marvel's Avengers is the best game to feel like a real avenger. Its history and gameplay make the game a very enjoyable experience for all superhero lovers.

After a long time waiting, Marvel's Avengers arrives with a powerful campaign, well-constructed characters and the promise of a constantly evolving future.

Marvel's Avengers is sprawling and spectacular, messy and bloated all at the same time. There's a surprisingly fun and lengthy campaign here, excellent writing and acting and some of the best superhero brawling in the business. It excels at allowing you to really feel like you're fighting alongside your favourite superheroes as you decimate enemies and destroy scenery, but it loses some of that swagger as it enters its online endgame. There's a half-baked gear system, convoluted menus and questlines and some technical issues that make fighting online feel a little rough around the edges at this point in time. However, with a couple of patches, with the right support down the line in terms of new heroes, costumes, bad guys and story beats, Crystal Dynamics could be on to a winner here. This is a properly solid start and a pleasant surprise.

If Marvel's Avengers were an MCU movie, it'd be Age of Ultron. It's perfectly entertaining and well put together, with some great set-pieces, but it isn't necessarily one you're going to return to again and again.

As a whole, the game is interesting, thanks to a (too?) complete customization system and complementary superheroes. On the other hand, the player often finds himself confronted with awkward choices and great redundancy synonymous with repetitive missions... Although Crystal Dynamics has, unlike BioWare with Anthem, avoided the trap of unbalanced loot, the game remains, as it is, simply attractive if not essential.

Avengers would have been a great story-driven title but its Games as a Service elements completely destroy it. Steer well clear, at least until Achievements and progression are fixed. To date, Square and Crystal Dynamics haven’t even bothered to officially acknowledge the issues the game is facing. For shame.

The level of detail with how much is happening on screen at the same time is a technical feat. The campaign is the best story experienced I've ever played through ever. Most people complain about story when it comes to games, but I doubt any one can genuinely complain about this story. And the graphics are the best on console thus far even beating out Division, Anthem, and Red Dead. It seems that people didn't want to give this a chance because it's a live game, but people should get it for the story at least. If you enjoyed "Rise of the Tomb Raider", you will definitely more than enjoy The Avengers guaranteed. Expand

The Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and what the uninitiated will see as a tacked on new addition, Ms. Marvel.

With excellent combat that is both rewarding and at times frustrating, even multiple attempts on failed sections can be fun as players learn the best way to handle a situation.

The UI is clunky at times and slow loading, but the ability to play as ones favorite Avenger makes these quirks easy to overlook.
The voice acting shines as some of the top names in the industry fill the shoes of well know and loved established voices. Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, Nolan North and Troy Baker bring their best to the table.

Fans of the MCU will return again and again even as the "End Game" becomes slightly repetitive. Think Destiny or Anthem Both great in their own right, but ideas are certainly borrowed from those two, and it's not hidden very well.

The positives is that theOverall this game wasn’t what I expected and isn’t worth the $60 and admittedly $80 I spent on the deluxe edition. The positives is that the campaign portion is good but also predictable. The whole concept of Ms. Marvel getting the gang back together is fun. There are some campaign missions that were really enjoyable! That’s really where the positives stop. The biggest gripe is that there is no customization regarding the equipment. The only way to change the look of your character is to change their skin. Additionally, a lot of the missions are really repetitive and if you’re playing alone the AI controlled characters are beyond brain dead. Arguably one of the biggest “issues” is that they didn’t use the the faces of the MCU Avengers. They used a hodgepodge of comic based Avengers. While that’s ok it really doesn’t help the game because let’s face it we all associate Tony Stark with Robert Downey and so on with the other Avengers. Overall this game wasn’t the home run we all wanted it to be. Is it a bad game? No. But don’t spend $60 on it, maybe once it it drops down to $30 it will be worth looking into. However by then there probably won’t be anyone playing so you’ll be stuck with the brain dead AI. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I had high hopes for this game, I really did. I was a big fan of Marvels Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2. The gameplay is boring and repetitive. You fight the same enemy type all the time and sometimes cant even hit them. The Loot system makes no sense. This is not like Destiny Borderlands or Diablo. You only get to fight three bosses, Wow. what a shame. I do think in time this game can be better but not now. It was clearly pushed out the door. You could have given us so many characters and interesting lore. Don't waste your time on this one. At least not now. Expand
