Tennis World Tour - Career Mode Gameplay Trailer
Jun 18, 2018Tennis World Tour feels too incomplete and detached from a real tennis experience to be at least satisfying. A good Career structure and nice graphics aren't enough to counterbalance the bad gameplay and a lack of essential modes, like online support and Doubles.
Jul 10, 2018Tennis World Tour is a mess of a game. The AI is a joke that makes it too easy to beat, the modes are lacking, there are glitches galore, and I honestly think the support for this game is not happening, which means that online multiplayer may very well never come. If you’re looking for a Tennis game to sink time into, I would say stick to something else. Anything else, really. This one is not worth your time or your money.

Unfortunately AO International Tennis failed to hit the mark in several areas so I was hoping that Tennis World Tour would do a bit better. It does do a bit better than AO International Tennis but this game is far from being a masterpiece and it does suffer with quite a few shortcomings, which ultimately hold the game back. It does however get a few things right and I especially found that to be the case with the licensed player’s that are available to you. Playing as them can be quite fun and they’ve done a good job of including each player’s quirks and mannerisms, which is great. Unfortunately though you can’t trully enjoy the players available to you because the controls don’t always remain responsive and sometimes you end up playing shots that you never went for which can be very frustrating. There is also a problem with the hit detection as well and sometimes my player just completely left the ball and this was infuriating to say the least. I can see some people being put off by the game’s difficulty because it can be a pain to finish off and win a game, especially against the top players. I however found the challenge to be pretty decent and when you finally win a tournament or beat a top player you do get a great sense of achievement. You will however have to put up with some unrealistic behaviour from the AI though along the way. The AI plays shots that don’t look real at times and this is not only frustrating but it also harms the immersion levels as well. In terms of content the game has a decent amount for you to get to grips with, but it does need some more. The content also needs more polish in certain areas as well because at times it does play a little rough. Thankfully though the presentation side of the game is not too bad. Visually the game can look decent at times and if more variety was placed into the courts it would be even better. The sound design whilst also good needs a little more variety as well because it can get a bit tedious hearing the same commentary over and over again. At the end of the day Tennis World Tour isn’t a complete failure and it does provide you with some enjoyable moments from time to time, but in the end it just has too many problems at this stage. I will say though that if you want a recommendation about which tennis game you should pick between this and AO International Tennis then I would recommend this, but they’re both a very long way from being perfect.… Expand

Not knowing its development history, I was shocked at the poor graphics, the sluggish control, the amateurish career mode, the lack of real tennis players.
Learning that it was released 20% incomplete, released early to coincide with a tennis tournament I'd never heard of, makes complete sense. This is an alpha game that was being sold for $60, and I feel dreadful for the people who shelled out $80 for a special edition. Just... wow.… Expand
