    Twin Mirror is a somewhat of a frustratingly uneven affair overall. It feels a bit slow paced and ends too abrupt, and while it features a wide cast of characters it doesn't give them enough depth or time to develop, and it presents you with crimes to investigate without letting you play much of a role in solution. The back and forth between Sam and his double provides an odd enjoyablyTwin Mirror is a somewhat of a frustratingly uneven affair overall. The back and forth between Sam and his double provides an odd enjoyably tense moment, and the mind palace sections at least provide a change of pace, but the overarching narrative doesn't so much as gradually ramp up to a startling climax as skid and thud into a clearly signposted dead-end. Outside of the eccentric influence of Pac-Man, the biggest surprise in Twin Mirror was that it left me with so very little to reflect upon. In Twin Mirror, players take on the role of Sam Higgs, a tenacious investigative reporter returning to his hometown of Basswood, West Virginia, after a period of self-imposed exile. Two years prior, Sam published a damning investigative piece on unsafe practices at the Basswood mine, which employed a huge portion of the town. As a result, the mine closed, putting a huge swath of Basswood out of work and pushing the town into an economic depression. In the midst of this firestorm, Sam proposed to his girlfriend Anna, another writer at the paper. She turned him down and, struggling with the personal and professional devastation, Sam left town without a word. In the time since, Anna has started dating Sam’s longtime best friend, Nick.In my opinion, Twin Mirror on Xbox is a good game even if it’s a little inconsistent in game. It’s not the best adventure game out there, but for fans of the genre it’s still a solid experience. So head on over to the Xbox digital games store if you’re looking for a new experience.… Expand

    If you came into this game thinking that Dontnod was suddenly going to start publishing fast-action FPS games or deep adventures with RPG elements, you'll be disappointed. It seems like the bulk of the critics that reviewed Twin Mirror have either never played a Dontnod game before or have forgotten what this developer does. Either way, Twin Mirror is a pretty decent littleIf you came into this game thinking that Dontnod was suddenly going to start publishing fast-action FPS games or deep adventures with RPG elements, you'll be disappointed. It seems like the bulk of the critics that reviewed Twin Mirror have either never played a Dontnod game before or have forgotten what this developer does. Either way, Twin Mirror is a pretty decent little narrative-focused game. It's fairly short, and should probably be retailing for $20 instead of $40, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. The story is solid, the voice acting is quite a bit better than I expected, and the atmosphere is on par with their other games. In other words, it's an instant Dontnod classic if you're into their particular brand of game. If you're not, well, you probably won't care for it. I give it an 8/10 because I paid full price and felt it could have either been longer or cheaper. Get it on sale.… Expand

    While it wasn't anything truly ground-breaking or remarkable, Twin Mirror tells a compelling story that keeps intrigue and suspense throughout, and just when you thought you might have sussed everything out, you're hit with another twist. It's relatively short, around 6 hours in total for an in-depth playthrough.     Rich story, high quality soundtrack. Has Alan Wake and Twin Peaks vibes, without the supernatural, but a tad of dream sequences. Some concepts about emotional intelligence.

    Great game, not sure who Sam is or why he's looking into a mirror but it's still great. There are a few plot holes and some characters aren't developed properly but I was able to look away from rear-view mirror and into Twin-Mirror.

    I like it Don't Nod are masters of there art I just purchased this game on the digital store and I like it actually all DONT NODS IPs are all great games I have life is Strange this game and tell me why all great games I purchased on the digital store

    The biggest problem with Twin mirror is the lack of pace. When a game that only takes about six hours to complete often feels boring, you know something is fundamentally wrong. Luckily the game also does several things well, which is what made us keep playing.

    Twin Mirror on Xbox is a good game, and for fans of the genre like myself, it's a solid experience. For those who aren't as keen on the genre, nothing here is going to change your mind. With its compelling story, some fantastic characters, decent gameplay and moments of something that could have been brilliant, I enjoyed both my playthroughs. I was, however, left wanting more from the title and it feels like it sits in the shadow of its better DONTNOD adventure games.

    Twin Mirror is unfortunately bit of a mixed bag. With some great ideas and potential for a captivating story it’s a shame that the adventure was cut so short. It feels like the game was intended to be longer and this is evident in the relative potential. Sam’s mind place is a highlight and does provide a lift to the game in areas that are at times lacking substance. The foundation was set but fell short of the great detective story that Sam’s return to Basswood could have been.
