    I was pretty much sold on Art of Rally the first time I saw it, but perhaps what might have truly sealed the deal was the line the large buddha statue laid on me in the intro, “we are in a parallel universe, where Group B was never cancelled”. Art of Rally is coming to Game Pass and there’s no excuse for anyone not to give it a try, unless you absolutely loathe racing games. It should appeal to any one with even the slightest interest in racing games, but will also satisfy the racing game veterans. The art style is sublime – I know some players might not be into the non-realistic graphics. It doesn’t get better than this in terms of pure art, and overall fun, and Art of Rally is both.

    Art of rally is a relaxing experience and I think it’s one that both veterans and newbies of the racing genre can enjoy. There is a lot to accomplish with the 10–15 hour story, the collectibles in the free roam areas, and the daily and weekly challenges so it will keep you coming back even though there isn’t any multiplayer. It’s ease of play and progression makes it a joy to play and feels more like a Sunday drive than it does a cookie cutter racing game that focuses on times and placement. Slip on some headphones, sit back on your couch and just go drive for a little while, you’re going to love it.

    With art of rally, Funselektor signs a magnificent love letter to the world of rallying by offering a demanding title that is as complete as it is pleasant. With its six destinations and around fifty cars with unique behaviors, the game simply takes you on a journey through the world and through the ages. Unfortunately, the title never harnesses the power of Microsoft's next-gen console. If you have a powerful PC on hand, then we advise you to get the game on this platform.

    Fundamentally, art of rally on Xbox is a more than competent rally game that proves you don’t need a fully licensed game to make an interesting arcade racer. Initially players will be sold on the unique and gorgeous art style, but it is here where the issues reside. The design suffers as a result of porting the game to Xbox consoles with problems we shouldn’t be seeing on this new flagship console.

    Art of Rally foi desenvolvido pela equipe Funselektor Labs e foi lançado em 2020. O jogo não possuí uma história, na verdade trata-se uma "grande pequena" homenagem aos tempos dourados dos rallys, em suposto mundo alternativo onde o conhecido "grupo B" nunca foi descontinuado. O objetivo é competir com a inteligência artificial nas corridas por tempo, habilitar mais carros e skins e assim concluir todas as categorias.

    Jogabilidade ⏬

    Está aí um jogo onde sua ideia "minimalista" engana na hora de jogar. Falando de games de rally, esse pequeno gigante perde em absolutamente nada para os maiores do gênero, apesar que games exclusivamente de rallys não estão em alta - infelizmente, pois sou fã desse tipo de corrida - então ele acaba em um nicho muito específico de players, mas sua qualidade é absurda.

    Nada de vários carros competindo estrada - ou seja lá qual for o ambiente - é você, a natureza e o tempo! Como deve ser. O primeiro lugar é determinado pelo melhor tempo, mas as adversidades das pistas são variadas, assim como os carros, tudo muda de um para o outro e o mesmo modo de pilotar não funciona, você precisa se readaptar em cada desafio. Neve, areia, asfalto... Os desafios são grandes e você vai encontrar de tudo no caminho, desde pistar curtas e estreitas, cercadas por pedras, montanhas e desfiladeiros.

    O jogo não conta com um sistema de configuração do veículo - motor, embreagem, freios, etc - cada carro é liberado com sua configuração, a única coisa que podemos alterar é o visual, ainda sim é uma skin inteira do chassi que você vai liberando conforme avança no modo carreira/história.

    Apesar de ser minimalista em quase tudo, sua física e conteúdo total são equivalentes a jogos de desenvolvedoras grandes, há uma gigante quantidade de veículos e skins, e por não ter direitos de imagem sobre nada, embora os nomes tenham sido substituídos, quem já jogou e/ou conhece desse mundo vai reconhecer facilmente modelos icônicos. O modo carreira rende muitas horas de desafios e diversão.

    Proposta gráfica ⏬

    Não tenho muito o que mencionar, o jogo tem uma proposta diferente e é ousado, mesmo com uma estrutura gráfica que lembra muitos jogos mobile - principalmente pela visão angulada superior - suas texturas são lindas e os ambientes muito bem trabalhados dentro do contexto do game. Os cenários são bem preenchidos e você reconhece pelos elementos mais famosos de cada país onde está competindo. Os veículos também recebem um bom detalhamento, o suficiente para reconhecermos os modelos mais aclamados do gênero.

    Críticas e bugs presenciados ⏬

    Não vejo o que criticar em um game criado com tanto amor, isso é bem nítido, quem fez, sabia o que queria fazer e o fez com imensa dedicação. Não presenciei bugs.

    Não sei o motivo, mas eu jogava outros games enquanto me dedicava também ao "Art of Rally", os demais - mais famosos - não tinham problemas com falhas de pixels, e isso ocorria com esse game, acredito que por ele estar saindo do Xbox Game Pass na época, ele não foi muito favorecido nas configurações do servidor. Apesar desse pequeno probleminha, isso não influenciou em nada minha experiência.

    Fun rally game. If you enjoy racing games, then I would recommend this. The style, graphics and lighting are really good.

    From the creative team that brought you Absolute Drift, this racer attempts to make a unique blend of rally racing with an "animated" art feel from a bird's eye perspective. Unfortunately, I think this mix takes away from the rally racing experience. Personally, I enjoy rally racing for its grit and sense of danger which I feel was non-existent. It sort of reminded me of playing with my TYCO slot car sets back in the day; and that's not completely a bad thing. It's quite challenging (and somewhat frustrating) to get the balance of gas and brake when making your turns. It becomes even more difficult when you add in the variation of terrain, weather conditions and time of day. There are a wide variety of locations and tracks, and the vehicles available are replicas of real-world cars that are easily recognizable. With the focus on the visual, it seems that less time was spent on the sound effects. Most of the cars sound like my neighbor's leaf blower.
    Once you finish the career and free roam, there doesn't seem much to keep you coming back for more. The only online component are daily and weekly challenges and it's unclear if there will be any future modes or expansion packs in the works.    … Expand
