Hunting Simulator 2 is definitely a much better game in all aspects than its predecessor, but above all, in the ability to offer a more immersive and realistic experience, with animals that are difficult to find and follow, unless you develop the hunting technique and adjust to it.

While not the most exciting game, you’ll spend the majority of your time simply trying to find your prey, tracking it in a number of ways with a trusty canine companion by your side. When those moments of discovery finally come and you only have a few moments to take your shot, this is where Hunting Simulator 2 becomes quite exciting. Be ready to take long lonely strolls through the woods though, as that will be the majority of your experience without any campaign to guide you.

The graphics in this game bumped up for the latest in consoles as noted. The environments are actually very pleasing to the eye. The hunting grounds that you get to traverse are varied. From the plains of Colorado, the Texan desert and the forests of Europe. All beautiful to behold. So much so, that it is a shame that while you are hunting and looking at the ground for tracks and animal signs you may miss the vistas. Overall, you may find yourself enjoying this game. Even more if you are a hunting enthusiast. Hunting Simulator 2 is a step into the world of hunting, in a safe way.

The next-gen release of Hunting Simulator 2 on Xbox brings with it some very notable graphical improvements to the environments, but that is the only real difference. A lack of a next-gen upgrade, save migration or new features in general – aside from having to pay even more money – prevent this from being a worthwhile investment for existing players.

Hunting Simulator 2 is ultimately an enjoyable and fun hunting simulation; the game while drastically improved over its predecessor on theHunting Simulator 2 is ultimately an enjoyable and fun hunting simulation; the game while drastically improved over its predecessor on the Xbox One, which I personally enjoyed very much as well. Hunting Simulator 2 is flawed in several ways that hold it back from being considered a masterpiece in the hunting genre, tho it gives fans of the genre something tangible at the same time. It improves upon its predecessor to become a better simulation overall, but certain choices end up hurting it like not being able to upload a save or continue where you left off in your Xbox One journey. But, alas you also have the privilege of obtaining all the achievements for a second time on the Xbox Series S | X version so if you are an achievement hunter then you will see this as a perk rather than a flaw. The game’s great qualities are apparent as are the improvements over the previous game in the series for Xbox One and Xbox Series S | X alike, such as the ability to use a hunting dog, graphics while nice overall the up close detail still can be off-putting to some, and does hold its potential back a bit. As a fan of hunting and fishing games it's easy to say I truly enjoy Hunting Simulator 2. It has all the basics nailed down to be a solid entry in the franchise. The downsides are things that could keep someone that isn't a normal fan of the genre from being fully immersed but aren't overly cumbersome in my humble opinion. If you are a fan of the genre I have no doubt you will enjoy the game to its fullest, however if you do not particularly care for the genre the game is not likely enough to change your mind. So in the end the game is easy to recommend to fans and a worthy addition to the Xbox library in my honest opinion. So “hunt” over to the Xbox store and pick up your Xbox Series version and enjoy it for all it’s worth on your Xbox platform and take down some much anticipated “game”. Expand
