This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. All I can say after watching this is Wow! What a zombie movie! It really does a great job making their zombies unique, being more like a tribal civilization than mindless flesh eaters.

The kills and gore are phenomenal, there are some moments like Cruz's death where you do not expect a main character to live only for them to be killed in a brutal fashion.

Bound to become a cult classic for the genre in 10 or 15 years.… Expand

This is overall a good movie with a great premise that feels bogged down by a 2 hour and 30 minute runtime and a few plot holes. Everyone has their own taste and entitled to their own opinion. I feel people are extremely critical these days, nothing is good enough anymore and it seems very hard to please people with entertainment any longer. With that said, if you watch after the movie and really see Snyders vision and behind the scenes of the production, I think you will understand what he wanted to do and that he accomplished his vision. That is what it is, his vision, understand that and maybe you wont get hung up on your own critiques of what it could have been, should have been, or how blurry the camera is when that was intended with a really cool unique lens from eBay he bought and wanted to create the whole movie with a view from this lens. Very creative movie, amazing zombies if not the best I have ever seen on screen. Truly scary and the sounds they made was very unsettling, every time. Great job. Did I love all of it, no, but was it well done in many ways, oh yes. Look at it through a different LENS, and maybe you will enjoy what I see as well.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What an amazing movie! Totally wasn’t expecting this! I was expecting a no brainer and zombie killing movie (with some slow motion shots haha). But wow! It made me care for the zombies?! Also, it touches on a lot of interesting concepts which should be explored in the sequels like aliens, time travel loop? So it’s definitely not only a zombie movie. Definitely need to watch it a few times to grasp it.

The only character arc I didn’t like was batista’s daughter. She was like the “Chris Pratt in infinity war”. The rest all did their job relatively well!

These reinvents the zombie movie genre. I hope they make more of these kind of movies which reinvents the genres!… Expand

The government wants to destroy both dicks because the government doesn't know the difference between good dick and bad dick. An accident happened because a dick was getting ducked at the start. So the good dick got a mission to take money and watch out for bad dick, but he only accepted this mission because Mrs gomez was there to protect his dick, she is the 1 dick protester, her sister in the other hand is a dick hit man, because the grew up in a dickledd household. Unfortunately Mrs gomez gets killed and everyone release that they are trying to kill good dick, unfortunately for the government the good fick had a daughters, they escaped and the good dick gave his daughter the good dick, the bad dick escaped too but took them time to build up, while they were building up, the daughter was using her dad's dick to one car doors, drive, oyster card etc. She discovers the government is following her so she uses her fafs dick to hack in the system. She figures out what the government was trying to do she gets bad dick and good dick to work together to destroy the government because we are all dicks.… Expand

This is by far the best zombie movie of the decade. Dave Bautista manages to hit all of the emotional beats as a grieving husband, and struggling father. This is quiet possibly his best casted role. And what was up with the zombies? it kind-of lack something i can't point out. why does the "zombie king" keep people in a room. how is the zombie queen pregnant? it's just very unusual. we didn't see much of the normal zombies except at the beginning. the zombie from the vault disappeared, too. there's a lot of questions, maybe they're saving it for a follow-up movie. but it's still great. i enjoyed it.… Expand

"Army Of The Dead" finds the polarizing filmmaker at his most aerodynamic; a curious thing to say about a two-and-a-half hour long zombie film, sure, but hear me out. Many of Snyder's films end up suffering at the feet of the aesthetic, with things like characterization and narrative taking a back seat to the overall look of the movie. This really marks the first time I've seen a Zack Snyder film where every visual element felt as though it was in service to the overall product and not just to the audience's eyes. Not sure if this has to do with Snyder's relationship to the material itself, the fact that he's his own cinematographer this time around or the fact that he's working with a much more hands-off studio/distributor in the form of Netflix. In any event, you're given boatloads of well-shot zombie action, some surprisingly resonant emotionality and easily the best CGI-beast mauling scene I've seen since "The Revenant." Zombie tigers are the greatest thing to happen to the subgenre. Quote me.… Expand

Also if you look for it, one of the team looks like Vasquez from Aliens, and does her best fight sequence as such easily. I loved the moments with what if, and could it happen along with the music choices and crazy situations. It's a comic book come to life, and Zack did a great job with everyone. The 0.95EF lens might not have worked for me, but over the film's length it felt personal and was a very good choice. Enjoy it, grab something to chomp on and watch it alone in the dark tonight.… Expand

Huma Qureshi's character is there to just get kidnapped - might as well have had an object there instead. It is more dramatic than you though it is, with action star Bautista giving his best performance to date. Set pieces are as always great, with a different take on Zombies that is original. Snyder is clearly in his wheelhouse here, making dumb fun movies that know they're dumb instead of making movies that are fun and dumb but think they're something more. Its mindless fun with surprisingly good performances despite shallow characters.
