The movie lacks nearly all of Spider-Man's supporting characters: no Gwen Stacy, no Harry Osborn, no J. Jonah Jameson, no Robbie Robertson, no Betty Brant, no Mary Jane Watson - though inexplicably there is a character named Michelle who goes by the nickname, MJ. And Aunt May is 30 years too young, not the feeble woman who fills Peter with such a sense of responsibility. Those supporting players created the dynamic that made Spider-Man interesting. Add to this all the hyperactive Tony Stark tech and this movie just isn't Spider-Man, not to this longtime reader of the comics. And the film is politically preachy. I gave it 3 stars rather than 0 for Michael Keaton's dialog with Peter Parker when Peter goes to pick up his date. That scene was the only worthwhile moment in the movie. Expand

What a waste of time.
The Raimi original was much better, better pacing, cinematography, score, etc
I can't believe even the effects look better on the original than in this one.

and he can't never keep his spider man secret identity a secret, he either tells everyone and makes it obvious that peter parker is spider-man even aunt may finds out. he's clumsy and so out of character.

Well Spiderteen has the wonderment of a five year old and in a five year old that would be cute, but in a teen that just makes him look very infantile. Keaton is so obviously Hollywood star material, but the rest of the cast were as bad as any daytime TV soap opera actors. Keaton performance just showed how lame the other performances were. This is a movie just for kids and not for families. Just like every Saturday morning cartoon is just for kids and not for famlies. I was bored by this brain dead kids movie full of trash actors by the hour mark. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Tom Holland said he watched the other Spider-Man movies, but never really inspired them, along with his team of writers. This reboot does not even mind the character's identity, it's no longer necessary. In Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland's character is a worthy inclusion, merging the previous other Spider-Man trilogies. And now this? "I'm nothing without my suit"? Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I had high hopes for this movie given the good reviews, etc., but I found this new, Avenger-in-training version of spidey pretty disappointing. Gone are many of the trademark characteristics that make spider-man interesting, like his trademark sarcasm, the personality contrasts between Peter and his alter ego, and his overriding sense of purpose based on the murder of his uncle. Instead we get goofy over-earnestness, no interesting character conflicts, and a single-minded drive to become an Avenger. Really? This combination for me at least just didn't work. Expand

It's an uninspired, juvenile, scattered, weakly plotted, unsuccessful attempt at humor, typical way over-the-top action, annoyingly pc mess. The Peter Parker character was always supposed to be a teen. Tobey Maguire, the man boy, was just right to walk the line between that and also be believable and worthy as a superhero. The new actor is young and underwhelming, and the title should be "Spider-Boy". It's so very stale of Marvel to be relying on the same computerized suit shtick as Iron Man not to mention Downey Jr. yet again playing that character in a movie falsely titled Spider-Man whatever. And contrary to jackass opinion it's not so clever tying all these superheroes together and Marvel has become sickeningly contrived bending over backwards to do so with any ties to reality and plausibility increasingly disregarded. Silly s---! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to be one of those few people that think Spiderman: Homecoming wasn't good. It was very disappointing and the final end credit might be the biggest slap in the face of fans. This Spider-Man is very weak and they have made him into a minor character. What the heck happen to his Spidey sense? I also didn't like how Tony Stark has this self-rightous attitude as if he hadn't been the cause of a lot of deaths and destruction (Ultron). And again we see that because of Stark and the federal government another villain rises up to cause destruction. If we just got rid of Stark we'd have a lot less problems. The climactic end to me just fell flat and I found myself rooting for Michael Keaton (Maybe that is just because he is still Batman). Expand

First off, I hated the fact that Spider-man's origin wasn't introduced properly because the MCU decided to continue directly from Captain America: Civil War. And for this the DCEU actually did better as they introduced Wonder Woman properly after not introducing her properly in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Precisely becuse Spidey's origin wasn't introduced properly, it needs to be introduced properly in this movie! Secondly, in the comics Spider-man was able to shoot webs on his own and not depend on some stupid web-shooter. Yes, I understand that when he first debuted, he needed to build a web-shooter to shoot webs. However, many of us are familiar with him being able to shoot organic webs on his own and they should just stick with the modern origin we all know and love. Thirdly, I hated how Iron Man was in the movie 99.9% of the freaking time. It made Peter Parker look like some sort of sidekick to Iron Man. One of the reasons Spider-man is unique is because he is the first superhero who is a teenager and not a freaking sidekick! And this movie just completely ignored that. The producers and directors might as well title it "Spiderman: Iron Man's sidekick". Fourthly, I hated how the suit had so much freaking AI because it came from Iron Man! And well, this is actually linked to the first and third problem of this movie. Because if they had introduced Spiderman's origin properly and not put Iron Man into the freaking movie, this problem wouldn't have happened as we get to see the normal suit of Spiderman. Fifth, I hated how there was a general lack of respect for the characters that were adapted on screen. Just look at Ned, Mary Jane, and all the supporting characters and compare with the comics and you'll know why. Sixth, I hated how there were just way too many lame jokes in the movie, many of which were said by Spiderman. They just made the movie more unwatchable, in my opinion. Lastly, I hated how overrated this movie freaking is by both viewers and critics! Look at the RT score: 92%! And look at the Metascores! They are just way too high for a trashy movie like this and in my opinion, this movie is many more times more overrated that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! Seriously do not get what's so good about this movie! Expand

Very weak film.
Tom Holland played a good, but secondary characters are disgusting. His friend Ned is the most annoying character, like the Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars. Zendaya just inappropriate kameo, in intent to attract her fan base on this film, she does not even try to play.
Michael Keaton played well, but the motivation of the villains is bad. They engaged in the fact that raking up construction debris, and after they were fired, they began to make weapons from alien technologies, which not every scientist will understand. With such skills, they could find a job without problems lol.
There are a lot of comedy moments in the film, but there is absolutely no drama. The film has good tricks and special effects, but the last battle in the dark and with a jerky camera is completely unimpressive. And a lot of the moments were taken from the old parts of the Spider-Man.

While this is a very weak film, I hope it will be better in next parts, and this franchise will not be restarted as quickly.

Its almost strange to think that in the past 10 years we've had 3 spiderman's and part of me can still reminisce about being keen to watch Spiderman 3 with Tobey Maguire in 2007 at the helm (yes i know it sucks, and it was probably one of the first films that i've watched that i ever considered to be bad) after the tremendous success and enjoy-ability of Sam Raimi's first 2 films. Anyway, Spiderman Homecoming having now gone in and seen it, is likely not just the worst Spiderman film to date (yes worse then Amazing Spiderman 2) but also the worst MCU film to grace the screen.

Now to the elephant in the room, the cast. where i can't completely criticize Holland and Keaton who didn't exactly get the best dialogue, the rest of the cast in particular Peter's friend Ned, Liz, Michelle and Flash were just about all cringe to watch, with Ned bumbling around like a complete moron for the missing laugh tracks, Liz lacking any aspect of a personality or general likable quality, Michelle serving as the last line for desperate attempts at comic relief, and Flash whose greatest insults range from 'P*enis Parker' to calling Peter a liar. Holland dosen't really do all that much in this movie aside from wine, fanboy about the Avengers and occasionally shoot a web and Michael Keaton is pretty much Michael Keaton which is about all i can say (Which is by no means a bad thing)

The direction and writing in this film is lacking heavily aswell, which can be understandable considering this film has 6 writers and the only notable experience the director has is Cop Car, which is as boring as it sounds. The film feels as through its dead in the water from the get go with preference on CGI over practical effects and the constant need to make the film interesting by location dropping with the Washington monument and Avengers tower acting as desperate pleas to make the film work. The film also goes on with some SJW nonsense aswell from casually dropping the fact that the Washington memorial was built by slaves.

A final complaint for this review is how safe the movie is played, in my country Australia the film is rated M for ages 15 and yet this film refuses to completely drop the F bomb like its some teen show in which swearing is considered a cardinal sin, the closest to an F bomb we get is 80% with 'oh fuc.....'. The film really doesn't want to take any risks aswell with nothing really bad happening, the lack of death is irritating and the need for every character to generate further sequels see's to every character getting their own personal plot shield which seem to be good for a lifetime at this current stage. Ultimately Spiderman had a good build up with civil war and wasted it on homecoming. The script direction and majority of the cast are infuriating and there isn't all to much to look forward to in the future of Spiderman, hell i'ld even go for middle age Tobey Maguire right now. Hopefully the MCU can redeem itself with Thor Ragnarok when it drops.

This film is a devastating let down. Tom Holland delivers a good performance as a hyper-active, mildly charming kid.
Michael Keaton is extremely good as a sinister weapons dealer.
Unfortunately the film itself is lacking on every front.

If you went to the film looking to see the next comedic installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then you probably left happy.
If you went to the film looking to see Spider-Man, you were probably very disappointed.

The film lacked heart. The one element that Spider-Man is known to deliver better than any other super-hero.
Homecoming constantly throws away dramatic moments for the sake of comedy.
Many of Spider-man's abilities are erased (or at least overshadowed) by Tony Starks Spider-Iron-Man suit.
There was no mention of Uncle Ben, great responsibility, or Peter's Spider-Senses. Essentially all the things that make Spider-Man Spider-Man.
Spidey was even afraid of heights, and chose to drive a car (without a license) rather than web-slinging at one point.

Considering how much fans celebrated returning Spider-Man to his roots, it's shocking how much this film changed from traditional Spidey mythology.
Many supporting characters don't resemble their inspirations in any way, shape, or form. Peter and his best friend border between mildly funny and very annoying, and feel like a cross between the two buddies in SuperBad and Spritle and Chim Chim.
Speaking of whom this film actually delivers a tone similar to the failed Speed Racer film, which I actually enjoyed much more than this.

Finally, the action and fight-scenes really under-deliver. Spidey and friends never feel like they're in any sort of danger or true struggle.
And Tony Stark replacing Uncle Ben as Pete's mentor is just really off-putting.

Marvel has a formula that delivers successful movies, but it's just not worth sitting through 2 hours of fart-joke type humor to advance the MCU a couple inches all the while killing the heart of Spider-Man.

The problem Is with the abilities and his suit. One of his core abilities Spidey sense is no where found in the movie His suit is just another ironman suit now. Which means the character doesn't need to do anything anymore and just ask "Karen" for everything. The good thing about previous spiderman movies was that they knew what spiderman's abilities are.

The story feels very simple, and it gets very filler at times. There are no consequences or impacts from this movie. No web slinging, no wisecracks, no Spidey Sense. The jokes aren't relatable and aren't even funny. The characters feel so Disneyland. Expand

I always have been, so I'm going to leave personal bias out of this review. Spider-Man: Homecoming is definitely not the best "film" that has ever been produced for this character, but it's hands down the best portrayal of the titular character that has ever been put to screen. Coming off Captain America: Civil War, fans loves this rendition of Spider-Man (for the most part) and were very excited to witness his first solo run. I can happily say that I had an absolute blast watching this movie. Sure, it feels very much like an addition to the already existing Marvel Cinematic Universe, but people who expect otherwise shouldn't be excited for these movies anyways. Here is why I believe fans of the existing Marvel franchise need to get excited about Spider-Man: Homecoming. There is no denying that this is a Spider-Man movie first, worrying about the rest of the universe as a secondary element, but there is something that has become very episodic about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When it comes to Spider-Man movies, the first thing they need to do is be entertaining. If you don't walk out of this film at least pleased by its entertainment levels, then you must have not been in the right mood to watch this movie. The action sequences (which there are quite a few of) are done with care and there are many quippy one-liners throughout the entire duration. Everything this film needed to do in order to perfect the characters and the spidey action, I believe it did so tenfold. I can't complain about this movie too much, so I have nothing to do but score it very high. Spider-Man: Homecoming is a giant showcase of the best this character has ever been on the big screen. There is only very need to a film is a better working out and more attention to the spider-sense. Expand

Fun for some, but is downgraded by a useless romantic lead and a tone that strays from reality.

I just wanted to see what the Disney Corporation force-fed the masses in the guise of a Spider-Man film these days. There is a cut every 2-seconds. Rapid-fire, self-satisfied dialogue which only the writers found funny. Headache inducing, muddled, CGI goop all over the screen.

Everything about the film is lightweight. The writing, the direction, the awful editing. I forgot almost everything I saw by the credits.

Фильм полное говно человека паука сделали малолеткой. Самые тупые шутки которые я слышал. Отвратительный финальный бой.
