Ironically, I saw this film after hearing a long-form piece on NPR about the Norwegian correctional system. It was an astounding juxtaposition. There is much to admire in the film, especially "star-turns" by some great old-guard actors. There is much to admire in the film, especially "star-turns" by some great old-guard actors. But to say the pacing is glacial, would not be too harsh a critique. The cinematography is gorgeous. But, something over 20 minutes could have been excised in the edit suite without harm to the "final cut." Still, all in all, for those who appreciate character development (as I do,) this film is well worth watching.…Expand
