This movie just feels like one really long pilot for a cartoon series. The characters are stock, the story kind of pulls you in at first then it falls apart just as it gets going. The only redeeming thing about this movie is the design of the the giant mechs they ride and some of the backgrounds look good, too good to appear in this movie. If the story was more focused this movie would've kept my attention better. This one is a watch if it's free type deal.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hard to say who this movie is aimed at. The backgrounds and mech design are inventive except the Martian fighters are cliche copies of former films. If it's supposed ti be for kids it's too graphic in the disintegration of bodies, sexual innuendos and alcohol consumption. If it's for teens and above there's no complex story or character at all which leaves nothing but extended battle scenes that quickly become repetitive and boring to watch. The character design is like a steroid pumped version of eighties style GI Joe except not as well done. The script and dialog are rehashed versions of action films.… Expand

This is, in no uncertain terms a very stupid movie. I could knock the characters, simplistic world, or any number of elements of this film, but I won't. Why? Because this is a kids movie. I could knock the characters, simplistic world, or any number of elements of this film, but I won't. Why? Because this is a kids movie. The whole thing is designed to be delicious to your 8-year-old. It's silly, action packed, and strangely a little gory for a kids movie.
