Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck play a couple in an intense and game-filled marriage in Hulu's Deep Water adaptation, which debuts March 18.

Based on the 1957 novel of the same title by author Patricia Highsmith, Deep Water follows a seemingly picture-perfect couple, Vic (Affleck) and Melinda (de Armas), to learn about the mind games they play with each other. The audience will see what happens to those around them that get caught up in the games, and the affairs she has, but soon their friends and family, including their young daughter (played by Grace Jenkins), notice something is different about their relationship, too.

A newly-released trailer for Deep Water, which you can watch below, implies Melinda is "flaunting" her affairs and Vic is "better than that." (At least according to his friend Nash, played by Lil Rel Howery.) But the look on Vic's face at that moment also says there is something much more complex going on.

"The truth is, if you were married to anyone else, you'd be so bored you'd kill yourself," Melinda tells Vic in the trailer.

"The love story is never the whole story," the marketing on the trailer warns.

A central plot in the book is the disappearance (and death) of some of Melinda's lovers, at Vic's hand. With Affleck's intense stares in the trailer, it seems safe to say that has not been cut from the adaptation.

The thriller also stars Tracy Letts, Dash Mihok, Finn Wittrock, Kristen Connolly, Jacob Elordi, Rachel Blanchard, Michael Braun, Jade Fernandez, Brendan C. Miller, Devyn Tyler, and Jeff Pope.

Deep Water is directed by Adrian Lyne from a screenplay by Zach Helm and Sam and produced by Arnon Milchan, Guymon Casady, Benjamin Forkner and Anthony Katagas.
