Four years after Michael Myers supposedly vanished without a trace, he's back for one last stand-off with Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). Watch the final trailer for Halloween Ends below.

The new film picks up with Laurie as she is is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and writing a memoir. Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell) is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, which ignites a new wave of violence that will pull Laurie to confront evil she can't control — once and for all.

"This time, something feels different," Laurie says in the trailer. "Maybe the only way he can die is if I die too. It all ends now."

Returning franchise cast members include Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, and James Jude Courtney as The Shape.

The horror film is written by Paul Brad Logan, Chris Bernier, Danny McBride, and David Gordon Green, who also directs, based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. It is produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum, and Bill Block, and executive produced by Carpenter, Curtis, McBride, Green, Ryan Freimann, Ryan Turek, Andrew Golov, Thom Zadra, and Christopher H. Warner. Universal Pictures, Miramax and Blumhouse present a Malek Akkad production, in association with Rough House Pictures.

The 45-year-old horror franchise, which started in the late 1970s with Halloween (Metascore: 87), will come to an end with Halloween Ends, only in theaters and streaming on Peacock as of Oct. 14.
