Shana Goldberg-Meehan

Biography: Shana is the daughter of Gary David Goldberg, the creator and executive producer of "Family Ties" and "Spin City". She served as a Congressional Page in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Rep. Patricia Schroeder during her Junior year of high school in the Spring of 1989. She is a graduate of Harvard University. Before joining the "Friends" staff she worked as a writer for "Mad About You". Helen Hunt acknowledged her by name in her acceptance speech when she won the Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy. Shana began as a writer on "Friends" in 1996 and has been promoted over to the years to her current position of Executive Producer. She continues to write stories and teleplays for the series. Scott Silveri, another Executive Producer on "Friends" is Shana's writing partner and life partner. They have been inseparable since meeting and falling in love during their days at Harvard.
