The Sum of It All proves adept at upholding one of the best things a music doc can do, which is reveal its subject on a personal level.
The Sheeran we meet throughout The Sum of It All is a little boy lost and Soutar does an impressive job bringing his pain to the screen.
Honestly, I didn’t expect to be shaken to my core by a flashy Disney promo film about a pop superstar. But the Sum of it All adds up to much more than the sum of its more obvious parts.
Come to a documentary about Ed Sheeran for the pop; stay for an intimate look at marriage, loss and mental health.
