After sitting down to watch the first episode, I could not help it and binge watched the whole thing in one afternoon. And, by the time the final credits rolled, I caught myself actually missing them. I want to know more, I want to see more and learn what the new season has to offer.

Like I said: this is a hidden gem that should not be missed.

There were also some characters that got on my nerves and even if they hated them in-character, that didn't make them any less annoying. Though it did bring some funny moments.

Honestly, I think I liked the more serious better. Not knowing if a character will survive or succeed, sudden character deaths. It was handled very well and definitely succeeded in tugging at my heartstrings once or twice. It also made the cliffhanger that much more painful.

All in all, Final Space had a pretty strong first season. But its sense of humour might not be entirely up to your taste.

I loved this from start to finish. binged it.

If you like squirrely crazy cartoons with a heart, i recommend this.

Only downside was the cliffhanger at the end, could have been a completely wrapped season.

Very standard sometimes chuckleworthy sci-fi lark sort of reminds me of a cross between red dwarf and futurama minus the humour. Animation is serviceable but unfortunately in 2018 it really pays to be picky with your animated diet.

Final space has The Simpsons naivety and silliness without relatable situations and Family Guy violence without dark self deprecating humor. Emotional scenes are too ofteb and are mostly manipulative trash and unearned by a flat and unlikeable cast, nonsense setups (every prisoner gets a ship? Really?) and the overall plot is just exaggerated sci-fi and Lovecraft ripoffs, with no actual stakes. So what are you, Final Space? You're not funny, you're not touching or moving.

Anyway, it's watchable. But it will make you angry for how it wastes all that potential.

It was hard for me to take to heart what Olan says about it being one of the first series with consistent changes and sticking to it, like Gary losing his arm, the loss of characters, anything that shows consequence and not going back on it. I do however feel that the pace is not bad, especially being with the swift story development, which I felt like I wasn't even missing out on anything. I seriously felt a rise of attachment to the show as it went on, the only gripe I have while watching this season was that I have to wait till next week and now I'll have to wait till season 2. I really hope people give this show a chance, and not have expectations by comparing it to a type of animated show that they watch on a regular, as if other forms of entertainments style or story and animation is the bar that is set. Other than the people who actually have legitimate reasons of disinterest, I would say give it a chance if you feel like it's trying to be something that already exists, and treat as most would for a non animated show. While the action is pretty enjoyable, the overall plots become boring to watch over time. When it trys humor, it's very hit or miss, coming into the show, I thought it would have done better with it's humor, but the more episodes I watch it gets harder to accept it's mediocrity. Overall the characters seem predictable and the cringy boring dialogue wise.

The show snowballs as the series goes on, picking up characters and weaving storylines neatly together. You can expect the frequent sci-fi staples such as galactic space battles, atom bombs, planet wormholes and everything in between, but while these chaotic environments offer something pretty and engaging, they're never really the main focus. Final Space is a show about its characters, first and foremost.

It does well at balancing light-hearted comedy with genuinely dark villains and settings - the threat is real, and doesn't at all feel watered down. Each character develops significantly and the emotional moments are impactful.

It's not perfect as of yet. Some of the script is a little weaker and occasionally the plot can feel a little convoluted or muddled. Season 2 is underway though, and with the right tweaks, this could be an easy rival to Rick & Morty.

In my opinion, one of the best shows of the new year. Very funny animated sci-fi comedy packed with quirky characters and jokes. However, this actually leans more torward dramedy: There is a serialized story with actual stakes and heart to the characters. It really took me by surprise.

Series plot-wise, you don't get much reason to care bc the world isn't developed enough. Character plots are handled the same. You get too many arcs thrown in episode 1, none progress, and it's really hard to care for the characters in the in-episode conflict/resolution plots bc the protagonists and antagonists are still complete strangers. Final Space's gags regularly fall flat, and the ones that do elicit a chuckle are played out until the charm evaporates and you begin to hate what you once appreciated. The attempts at heart-string tugging character drama are a wasted effort as that would require the viewer to identify with some of the cast - a problem for a show consistent only in its failure to make any of the protagonists likeable.

This is typified by Kevin, a robot with the singular and defining trait of "being annoying". This might have had more impact, but sadly for Kevin, all the other characters are annoying in more aggravating ways.

Final Space is an unoriginal and poorly implemented yawn-fest. it gets 3 stars for quality animation and the fact I can now ask people "Did you like Final Space?" and use it as a gauge of mental stability, because anyone who expresses anything more positive than apathy for this show is not to be trusted.

Final Space needs to find a smarter path to its humor (and force its main character to grow up), but the Futurama-meets-Steven Universe premise holds promise, and with some adjustments, this series could potentially launch into hyper-speed.
