Obviously, some will see the gender of the leads a momentous occasion worth trumpeting, and it is, but the show is packaged so nicely and the partners are so complementary that their sex becomes moot.
The bang-bang in L.A.'s Finest is long and loud—two car chases and two shootouts in the first 12 minutes—but it's too well-staged to complain about. And the lurid back stories of the detectives—even their secrets have secrets—keep things interesting even in the infrequent moments when nobody is being tortured or killed.
I enjoyed the first season! The girls are bad ass and it's an easy watch. Action was good some comedy cheeky and characters likeable. I look forward to season 2!
It’s a pretty light-hearted action-drama, the kind of show where Syd and Nancy banter their way through a bullet-riddled convenience store hold-up/hostage crisis.
Everyone can find another show exactly like this one on Fox or other broadcast networks, USA or other cable outlets, and even streaming services. They don’t need Spectrum for this kind of show, and this specific show doesn’t do much to make it feel needed at all.
Whatever L.A.'s Finest is, it isn't bad on an outlier level. It's as good as much of what counted as broadcast television dramas this past season. This is not in any way intended as a compliment, just my acknowledgement that as thoroughly mediocre as it is, L.A.'s Finest feels like the sort of show that, in a different era, easily could have attracted a healthy audience on broadcast.
Episode 8 (Dead Men Tell No Tales). This show is INSANE. LAPD offices? Huh? When did LAPD become a billion $$ corp – all glass walls, pristine, posh multi-million $$ interior design. A police department, right?
This alternate-reality version of EARTH has a car repair 'shop' that's cleaner than an operating room. Not as clean as LAPD HQ tho. Gabrielle Union & Jessica Alba are LAPD detectives dressed like...? Gabrielle Union & Jessica Alba at a premiere showing of LA's hottest new artist. The holding cell was AS CLEAN as the hospital room in the next scene.
Acting? Passable? Maybe? Ernie Hudson guested in this episode. He must need the money. And people GET PAID to produce this? Oh. The plot. Alba's character has some youthful secrets she can't reveal to her DA husband. Couldn't get past the utter and complete absurdity of everything that crossed my vision. You know, it's so gruesome you “can't look away”.
Watching paint dry is more interesting than this show. I don't know who decided this show would be entertaining. Both Gabrielle and Jessica both could use some acting lessons. Nice try but a strikeout I'm afraid.
Vapid, inane, poor acting, worse script writing. How does this get on TV? Terrible in all aspects. Someone should be held accountable for thrusting this garbage on the public.
