The key will be whether Second Chance can keep from lapsing into a stale weekly catch-a-crook caper or have enough layers of unique duplicity and humanity to resonate as considerably more than that. It so far still deserves the benefit of the doubt, with a compelling opening episode that should leave many viewers in the mood for more. Read full review

Yes, this sounds preposterous. And the crime-of-the-weeks sometimes dabble in clichés--child in jeopardy, villain with an East European accent. But the actors sell it, and the writers throw in enough winking humor to let us not take it too seriously. Read full review

Kazinsky is likable, but seemingly lacks the imagination to suggest depths that aren't indicated in series creator Rand Ravich's screenplay. He doesn't sync up with Hall's performance as the older version of the character.... There are compensations, though: The emotionally fraught relationship between Mary, the CEO of the tech company, and her brother Otto, the scientific genius behind most of its advances, is fascinating, and DeKay's performance as Duval is intelligent, sensitive, and often unexpectedly touching. I love everything about this show, The character Actor choices are perfect, I love that for such an out of the box story that this is something that is easy to accept and follow, We were big White Collar fans so to see Tim DeKay continue working with the FBI really sold the show in myI love everything about this show, The character Actor choices are perfect, I love that for such an out of the box story that this is something that is easy to accept and follow, We were big White Collar fans so to see Tim DeKay continue working with the FBI really sold the show in my opinion. Great Great show! I really hope they don't cancel this one! The last episode looked like it might be the last. Seems like the good shows get canceled, and are replaced with dumb shows.

I'm really enjoying the show with the 'impossible' made believable story of a dad having a second chance. There are a few minor issues as with any show but I think this has great possibilities and want to see it stay on for a while.

Very good show that started rather slow but the resulting final few episodes showed a very well written series with plenty of suspense. I believe the network made a big mistake by not letting the full season run through and not bringing back season 2. My wife and I don't watch that much television, but this show captured the interest of both of us. While there are some moments- editing or directing-wise- that don't always work, we watched the entire season together! Previously named "Frankenstein Code" and "Lookinglass", "Second Chance" premiered on Fox this week. The show's tagline is "Death gave him a second chance at life".

We meet Jimmy Pritchard. He's a 75 year old hard living man. Pritchard was previously sheriff of King County, Washington butPreviously named "Frankenstein Code" and "Lookinglass", "Second Chance" premiered on Fox this week. The show's tagline is "Death gave him a second chance at life".

We meet Jimmy Pritchard. He's a 75 year old hard living man. Pritchard was previously sheriff of King County, Washington but was forced to resign due to corruption charges some 15 years earlier. He has a difficult relationship with his family. Enter the Goodwin twins (Otto and Mary). They run a technology company called Lookinglass. Otto mysteriously notifies Mary of a "suitable donor"-- one in a gazillion to one genetic mutation. And we're off to the races.

Jimmy awakes to find he's no longer an elderly man. He's a super buffed (and super strong) twenty something. He has some challenges adjusting but soon decides he likes this body. NewJimmy quickly hooks up with a prostitute from his previous life

His old priorities were women, booze, music, work and family (maybe in that order). Now that he has a second chance, Jimmy wants to right some wrongs and protect his family. I wont give the specifics away so as not to ruin it for ya.

I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. The pilot is fast paced. Rob Kazinsky is a compelling lead as Sheriff Pritchard. He's best known (at least to me) as Warlow in "True Blood". Jimmy's possible relationship with Mary also has potential. I'm not sure how long the show can keep it up but the pilot was a lot of fun. "Second Chance" definitely deserves a second look.… Expand

Started promising but lost its promise halfway with the main story becoming repetitive and predictable and the cases became weaker with every episode. The father-son issues were played out starting interesting but are being drawn out as if it had to last until the finale.
