This is without a doubt a really fun little game.
There's definitely room for improvement for these little guys' Advance portable adventure, but it's a good first shot that can be expanded upon in the GBA's lifetime.
A decent surprise.
While the game does have its strong points, including a high degree of accessibility, the reliance on 8-bit era play mechanics and graphics make Army Men Advance look like Army Men Color.
Does the basics right—sound effects and control—but is also completely uninventive.
Its graphics are at the bottom of the Game Boy Advance totem pole, none of the hardware's interesting features like multiplayer are utilized, and the one-player mode can be finished in one day.

Summary Plastro, the infamous leader of the Tan Army, has recruited alien forces from another world to aid in his ongoing war against the Green Nation. It's up to Sarge and Vikki G. to jump into action to save their troops from a variety of unknown enemies, and then track down Plastro himself for a final confrontation!
