Block Fortress’s combination of Minecraft plus tower defense plus first-person shooter teeters on the edge of too much shooter, but the combination is a blast to play.
Building on the more intriguing aspects of their recent hit Heroes and Castles, Foursaken continues to amaze and excite us with these fantastically deep mobile games.
It comes down to the classic gaming questions: do you have the proper equipment, and do you have the wherewithal to invest the time.
Block Fortress hides ample fun and depth behind its clone mask, yielding an arguably more entertaining experience than the iOS hit it draws its visual inspiration from.
Hybrid games can be tough to pull off, but Foursaken Media makes it look easy. Not only is Block Fortress great, but it does a wonderful job of catering to all three of its core game types. Fans of just about anything should definitely think about taking the $1.99 plunge.
The FPS component of the game may not be thrilling in the early stages of the game, but the scope for experimentation in defenses make this a very compelling purchase from the very start.
Block Fortress ($1.99, Universal) crafts a whole new experience with a lot to dive into, and simply experiment with. It’s a brilliant idea of combining genres you wouldn’t think go to together, but the execution isn’t as good as it could be to the detriment of the whole game.

Summary Block Fortress gives you the freedom to create a stronghold in almost any way you can imagine, and then puts you in the middle of the action trying to defend it from the relentless attacks of the menacing Goblocks! Put your skills as both a builder and a fighter to the test as you try to survive as long as you can!
