Chubbins is a deceptively difficult old-school platformer that's all about managing your angles and learning to bounce at just the right moment.
That’s something that could have gone a long way in making some of the game’s more clunky and frustrating elements a tad more palatable. As it stands, Chubbins ends up a niche title for those seeking a somewhat unique and demanding platforming experience with no frills.
After the bizarre novelty of Chubbins wears off, the only feeling left is emptiness.
My biggest problem with Chubbins is that I never quite found myself having fun with it. Instead, I was consistently frustrated, and longer play sessions resulted in sore thumbs.
