Collecting Elebits in a 2D setting becomes tedious after just a short time; however, the game excels where it emulates two of its adventure brethren, Zelda and Pokémon.
This is a fantastic invention of the Elebits series on the DS. Everything on a mechanical level is really well done.
Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero is a fun little adventure game that’s simple enough for young gamers to enjoy, but substantial enough to keep us older gamers happy. It’s a unique, charming little adventure, and DS owners with a taste for the cute and colorful will find it worth their time.
Initial excitement that this may be the next big thing soon subsides, but the adventure that remains is solid, entertaining stuff. [Apr 2009, p.64]
The Adventures of Kai and Zero lacks the innovation of the original Elebits, but the obstacle-laden gameplay is engaging throughout and there are some fun boss battles for players to look forward to as well. It’s not the brightest adventure on the DS, but it does have enough juice to provide some kid-friendly enjoyment.
The second Elebits makes its way to a new platform with a new focus, but it still makes for a very fun adventure.
Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero is a fun DS game worth experiencing. Sure, it has a few problems, but the enjoyable gameplay will keep you busy for hours.
