  • Summary: Burnout brings high-energy, arcade-style street racing to your gaming console. Drive more than 300 realistic vehicles, and then crash them in spectacular, slow-motion fashion. Burnout monitors your driver's heart rate: You're rewarded for near-misses and the more risks you take. Cruise the United States and Europe on 14 awesome, traffic-filled courses, through cities and into the countryside. Instant replays allow you to relive your handiwork from multiple angles, in all of its cringe-inducing, metal-bashing glory. Expand

  1. A very intense experience. [May 2002, p.131]
  2. 87
Burnout is not flawless, but its few drawbacks (the short time limits, strict boundaries and lack of length) matter little in the end. Its wicked gameplay dominates the experience making Burnout a must play, even if you're not a fan of the genre.
  3. The PS2 game is gorgeous enough as it, but the extra processing power, graphical trickery and superior control mechanism have done wonders for Criterion's racer.
  4. Overtaking games like "Gran Turismo," Criterion Games' racer is more like ageing Sega classic Outrun on a heavy dose of speed with a touch of Red Bull to help push things along.
  5. It's still a fun romp. You won't find customizing options or an extensive list of vehicles to buy; but if it's chaos and destruction you want, it's chaos and destruction you'll get. [June 2002, p.81]
  6. A run-of-the-mill arcade driving game that features spectacular crashes.

[panish] Burnout es un juego que en su día dio mucha diversión por su innovador planteamiento, este mismo sistema de juego sigue siendo igual de divertido hoy en 2012, porlo que si soys fans de la saga os recomiendo jugarlo en su mejor versión. Expand
