  • Summary: Solid Snake debuts on the GameCube in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. This game revives the first two Metal Gear Solid games--Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty--and combines their best features into one unique experience. You are Solid Snake--a spy called out of retirement to infiltrate an Alaskan nuclear base. During your mission, you'll discover secret military projects and surprising details about your past. Stealth is usually key to a successful mission, but if all else fails, you have a vast arsenal of weapons--including a silenced pistol, a rifle, guided missiles, and a sniper rifle--to dispose of your enemies. 1. The best game on GameCube by far and one of the best games ever, in my opinion. It's a must-own for any action game fan. [Grade = A+]
  2. They made the game much smoother in the gameplay department, the PS-X version's biggest weaknesses.
  3. Yes, it is both brief and linear in nature, but the story is presented with such a brilliant combination of style and substance that you'll want to come back and experience it over and over again.
  4. But with each new feature comes a downside: First-person aiming makes regular combat easier...but it also makes boss battles far too easy; the new cut-scenes are brilliantly produced...when they're not overdosing on painfully cliched bullet-time effects; and the graphical overhaul is nice...but we know GameCube is capable of better. [Apr 2004, p.126]
  5. The affect of aging on the game hasn’t exactly been akin to that of a fine wine, but the assortment of improvements made to it are reason enough to play through the game all over again.
  6. The flashy, all-new cutscenes actually distract from the game's innovation: the emphasis on artificial intelligence over player progress.
  7. I hate to say it, but this latest Metal Gear Solid isn’t just painful to play in a stealth-action sort of way, it’s painful to play in a bad game sort of way.

This game is possibly, one of the best games ever made for Nintendo GameCube system. A great remake of a great Sony PlayStation classic. It has grate gameplay, as well as a well polished interface, intense cut sequences, and all the things you wish you had in the original, including new weapons and the dog tag system from Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty. All-in-all, it's easier and has better graphics then the original for the Sony PlayStation, and I've played both. If you want to play the first Metal Gear Solid I recommend this. Expand

It might not be the best game of all time but I have to admit it came close, Silicon Knights did a awesome job when it came to graphics. One of the things I loved the most were the videos, and in my opinion this is the stealth/action game ever. Expand

The remake of the classic MGS is as awesome as the original , heck, you even see Solid Snake act like a badass character . The gorgeous graphics is a nice paint for the crude visuals of the old one. Silicon Knights added some new scenes to the old cut scenes , like a better interaction with Snake vs our favorite Cyborg Ninja. While Metal Gear Solid Twin Snake is just an update to the old one, it falls short to reach excellence ,also, this could have been perfect for the PS2 . But , forget those two negative views , this is fantastic . Expand
