  • Summary: Solid Snake debuts on the GameCube in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. This game revives the first two Metal Gear Solid games--Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty--and combines their best features into one unique experience. You are Solid Snake--a spy called out of retirement to infiltrate an Alaskan nuclear base. During your mission, you'll discover secret military projects and surprising details about your past. Stealth is usually key to a successful mission, but if all else fails, you have a vast arsenal of weapons--including a silenced pistol, a rifle, guided missiles, and a sniper rifle--to dispose of your enemies. 1. The best game on GameCube by far and one of the best games ever, in my opinion. It's a must-own for any action game fan. [Grade = A+]
  2. A remake of one of the coolest, most satisfying action games ever made.
  3. With all that’s fantastic about the game I can’t overlook that it needed more polish, and for that reason I wouldn’t say it’s a must-have for those that played the original or still have a copy.
  4. Although the decision to lengthen the already generous cut-scenes may deliver the odd treat for MGS veterans, many will find their duration exasperating. Crucially, though, some of the reworked sequences end up interfering with the game's pacing while failing to bring anything of substance to the experience. [Apr 2004, p.102]

Don't listen to Chimp. If this game was on PS2 he would have given it a 10. This game is awesome. It has the best cinematics of any game I've ever seen (and the bloodiest), and stealth killing guards is incredibly addicting. Expand
  2. Awesome game. A bit too cheesy and over the top though. Lessens the realness that the other games evoke.

No doubt this is a fine game, however I am insulted that it is only on GC. However, this does not touch upon the masterpiece MGS2, nor is it as good as MGS when it first came out. But, Go ahead, It's a fine remake, even though the addition of FPS mode makes it a little bit easy. At least....haha....the PS2 gets MGS3! Expand
