  1. The best game on GameCube by far and one of the best games ever, in my opinion. It's a must-own for any action game fan. [Grade = A+]
  2. They made the game much smoother in the gameplay department, the PS-X version's biggest weaknesses.
  3. Yes, it is both brief and linear in nature, but the story is presented with such a brilliant combination of style and substance that you'll want to come back and experience it over and over again.
  4. But with each new feature comes a downside: First-person aiming makes regular combat easier...but it also makes boss battles far too easy; the new cut-scenes are brilliantly produced...when they're not overdosing on painfully cliched bullet-time effects; and the graphical overhaul is nice...but we know GameCube is capable of better. [Apr 2004, p.126]
  5. The affect of aging on the game hasn’t exactly been akin to that of a fine wine, but the assortment of improvements made to it are reason enough to play through the game all over again.
  6. The flashy, all-new cutscenes actually distract from the game's innovation: the emphasis on artificial intelligence over player progress.
  7. I hate to say it, but this latest Metal Gear Solid isn’t just painful to play in a stealth-action sort of way, it’s painful to play in a bad game sort of way.

This game is possibly, one of the best games ever made for Nintendo GameCube system. A great remake of a great Sony PlayStation classic. ItThis game is possibly, one of the best games ever made for Nintendo GameCube system. A great remake of a great Sony PlayStation classic. It has grate gameplay, as well as a well polished interface, intense cut sequences, and all the things you wish you had in the original, including new weapons and the dog tag system from Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty. All-in-all, it's easier and has better graphics then the original for the Sony PlayStation, and I've played both. If you want to play the first Metal Gear Solid I recommend this. Expand

It was a collaboration between Nintendo and Silicon Knights. Twin Snakes is a remake or the PS1 classic Metal Gear Solid. The story is given new life and a fresh coat of paint. The most obvious is the graphical overhaul. Using the same mechanics and engine as MGS2: Sons of Liberty the Twin Snakes remains one of GC's best. The new visuals and mechanics make the game the definitive version in my opinion.

Now some might say that Twin Snakes was too over the top. I find this ironic considering the Metal Gear series as a whole is over the top. I call this the Over the top fallacy. The very premise of Metal Gear is itself over the top. A lone super soldier infiltrating an enemy base to destroy a bipedal nuclear armed robot is certifiably over the top on its own.

If you have a gamecube and haven't played this and are looking for a classic? Look no further. This is simply one of the best.

It's the original MGS with updated graphics and contols. What else do you need to know? Oh, and the Psycho Mantis battle still rocks.

One of the best games all time remastered for GC with improved graphics. Although GC possibilities were not explored to the maximum and the result it´s 9 game, that should be 10, if the visuals were even better.

This is an awesome remake of the original PS1 classic with all the improvements of its sequel. The stealth is great, the boss battles are ridiculous, and the story is compelling. A must buy for anyone with a Gamecube.
