86The game's important story is now critical to the evolving RE plot thanks to "Resident Evil 4." So, if you want to knowingly absorb all that RE4's story presents, you should definitely take a creepy walk down memory lane.
-
It's the same thing that has been on a couple of different consoles. If you only played the original Code: Veronica, the only thing that X offers you is some new storyline elements and a few extra cut-scenes. However, if you've never played this game before, you should really give it a shot.
-
Sadly, the decreased scare factor makes the game's backtracking much more of a chore, as you endlessly trawl back and forth to find items that open doors to other items.

40At the dawn of 2004 not enough time has passed for this to be a retro title and now it just feels out of date. I also suppose that if it were budget priced at $19.99 and a player who was curious about the Resident Evil franchise wanted to pick it up, I'd recommend it. But at $39.99... I can't do that.
