It's a high quality product that blends tactics, strategy and management into an accessible and playable game -- just watch out for the appearance of any latent megalomaniac tendencies.
Great game, but a bit off from perfect. One of the things that irks me most is the race creation options. Getting to choose from only 4 similar governments is not enough.
Players who love strategy games will go nuts for Master of Orion II. Its detailed play options, random encounters, multiplayer options, and customizing capabilities are everything that the hard-core veteran dreams of.
One of the coolest features in Master of Orion 2 is the ability to do research. There are over 200 different technologies that you can acquire by the use of scientists in your empire. You get to choose many different technologies to research at any point and time.
While an excellent game, it just lacks that particular oomph the original had. Perhaps, being a sequel, it couldn't have the same impact as being something completely new.
There is so much to do in this game that if you like space opera strategy, you’ll have to have it... One of the better strategy games of 1996, but one with significant flaws. Good, yes; a classic, no.
classic game and one of the best 4x games, that still is fun and is the best part of the franchise.
There are different races and you can even design your own race. Gameplay is addictive and complex, like the civilizations franchise. Graphics is ok, dont forget, this game is from 1996. I played with the 1.5 Moo2 Mod.
still playng it since 1996 was the first pc game i ever buy
They tried to make moo3 and remake moo2 in 2016 in real time, but nothing can defeat the original moo2, its just better in everything, the combat is more tactical and deep the management is better.
The onyl thing they need to do is remaster it in high res make map bigger, more techs more races. and keep everything how it work in the original.
As the Heroes of Might and Magic was my first turn-based fantasy game, so this game was my first turn-based fantastic game. At one time, it was just a great strategy with interesting ideas and relatively good drawing. In my own way, I always really liked games that you can play with someone sitting at the same computer and discussing your game. For all this, I want to give this game such high rating.
SummaryMaster the unknown before it masters you. The need for galactic expansion is critical. You must conquer alien star systems to secure the resources that will guarantee your supremacy. The ultimate goal is to defeat the evil Antarans.
