A head-to-head castle defense game with a lot of unit options, RPG upgrade mechanics, hack and slash segments, and plenty of modes. The long standing issues of the genre are not addressed here, but fans should be more than happy.
I imagine some folks may complain that Monster Wars feels too much like its precursor without much of a change to the core gameplay. I say, why mess with a good thing? While the game does feel like a re-skin at times, Monster Wars still does a great job taking the classic gameplay from Legendary and transplanting it in a new setting.
If you've ever wanted to bring the hammer down on the good guys, Monster Wars is for you.
Monster Wars is a dark clone of Legendary Wars, so it's funny and full of strategic and RPG elements. However, it's not a real sequel, but something like a parallel project without really original content.
Gorgeous to look at, and a heap of fun to play, Monster Wars is a clever but flawed mash-up of tower defence, RTS, and slash-'em-up.
