Anyone who reveled in the joy of the NES "Excitebike" and the original "Motocross Maniacs" will undoubtedly love this update. [April 2002, p.71]
Maniacs will keep you happy and occupied on the go, even if some of the characters and modes are hokey. [Apr 2002, p.89]
The racing style is fresh for newbies to the series like me, but the experience begins to deteriorate after a while. The learning curve is slow.
Its light-hearted approach is suitable to that type of play and I imagine Motocross will find a good niche there because of its Saturday morning cartoon treatment of motorcycle racing.
Sadly, the AI is very predictable, so after you've gotten the hang of the game, you'll have no trouble winning almost every race.
A cluttered mess of a racer that bares very little resemblance to the game it follows...and definitely doesn't offer nearly as much fun.
Fun for about an hour, and after that I doubt you'll ever pick it up again. [Apr 2002, p.146]
