An improvement in every aspect, Overcooked 2’s addition of ever changing kitchen experiences as well as online multiplayer options cements itself as one of the best multiplayer (especially co-op) experiences you can buy right now. Delicious.

One of the best party games! Rapidly switch between planning, yelling, freaking out, and celebrating, before diving into the next cooking challenge. Local and online support makes it even better.

If you enjoyed the first Overcooked!, Overcooked! 2 is a slightly better version of that game. The online multiplayer adds some more fun, but that’s probably not enough if you grew tired of the first game. Regardless, it's a great game.
Having a co-op partner is essential for Overcooked 2, otherwise you’ll miss most of the funny situations, entertaining confusion and surprising difficulty of this game. [Issue #233, p.64]
It’s this mix of chaotic misery and joy that makes Overcooked 2 a dish best served bold.
Overcooked 2 is a fantastic sequel to a co-op classic, building on the gameplay ideas from before in meaningful new ways while polishing up what was already there. There is a lingering sense that this is more of the same, but it’s such a blast to play that you’ll hardly be focused on the lack of any major innovations; overall, this feels like a stronger execution of the original vision. Overcooked 2 is a game that’s full of personality and heart, and we’d recommend this one to anyone looking for a fantastic party game.
The continued issues with online play (least on Nintendo’s platform) as well as Ghost Town’s wilful dismissing of a properly-adapted single-player alternative will only go to dwindle the potential audience once more. An audience whom might not see much significant change from what is still essentially an unaltered recipe from previous, but will still find immense joy in partaking in when part of a group. Which is a shame, given how well-realized Overcooked 2‘s core, emergent style of play truly is.

A hectic cafe simulator gameplay just like any other, that's weighed upon by many overly complex recipes that involve too much coordination, and performance issues specifically on the Switch. Good for short sessions, if you can tolerate the repeated sluggishness.

A much weaker entry than the first game. Levels are not very difficult and the game screws you over by adding a 4th star post-game, which means you have to play every level again. Should have just had it available at the start of the game - 4 stars are also not retroactively applied if you achieve the score mark beforehand.
* the DLC is much better than the base game

This game is shamelessly overhyped, partly totally unfair and not beatable. So I wonder where all those glorious ratings come from. Even with 2 players you struggle getting the minium number of points to win 1 star rating. After world 1 it gets really hard!
