  • Summary: This intricate battle of wills is easy to learn; yet the subtle nuances of a masterful strategy take much longer to develop. Your goal in Assimilation is to take over the entire game board with your markers, while your opponent does the same. By cloning or jumping into spaces adjacent to your opponent, you assimilate their markers into your own. [Global Star Software] Expand

Sometimes you're just going to be sick of stories, plots, action, explosions, voice acting, and hot babes. That's when this baby will come in handy.
  2. The single-player game is so easy as to be boredom inducing. As a multiplayer game, it shines but is marred by a limited number of boards.
  3. A great effort, but fans of puzzle games will find it lacking. Its originality and simplicity are its strength, but all the pretty graphics in the world can't make up for the lack of enjoyment.
  4. While Assimilation is entertaining for short periods of time, it lacks the addictive quality that makes a puzzle game truly great. [Sept 2002, p.91]
