  • Summary: Featuring an enhanced version of the original's physics engine with even faster driving track designs, FlatOut 2 also boasts numerous improvements, enhancements and additions to make the title the definitive FlatOut experience. Twice as many vehicles, a more sophisticated career mode, additional race environments, double the number of tracks, twice as many mini-games along with brand new and much requested online multiplayer modes are just some of the exhaustive features that are included in FlatOut 2. With more than 5,000 fully destructible objects on every track as well as 40 deformable parts on each vehicle, physical interaction in a racing game is taken to unprecedented heights. With a greater emphasis placed on causing destruction on the track by offering greater rewards, game play will be even more frantic than ever. Drivers will need to tear into competitors' cars, trash the local scenery, litter the track with obstacles, while at the same time trying to concentrate on their own race in a bid to cross the line first. The ever-popular Ragdoll mini-games from the original FlatOut game make a welcome return and are better than ever with 12 Ragdoll events, a Ragdoll Championship and full online support. New Ragdoll events include basketball, baseball and royal flush cards. [Empire Interactive] Expand

  1. Good choice of rock music in the playlist.
  2. This is a purely arcade racer, and its sense of speed isn't nearly as good as, say, Burnout Revenge. Car crashes themselves are fun, but not nearly as satisfying as a destruction-oriented racing game should be.

FlatOut 2 is one hell of a fun racing game. Sure, many of its elements feel a tad generic, like the track and character design, but what it really comes down to is the racing itself and Bugbear has done a great job at drawing a line between control and complete chaos.
  4. FlatOut 2 seems a little too slick for its own good in spots, but it still manages to provide plenty of destructive racing fun.

A magnificent game and quite possibly the best arcade racer ever made. If your a fan of intense fender to fender action then you owe it to yourself to pick up this game. Computer AI is believably aggressive and at times very difficult to beat. The city and rural landscapes are stunningly beautiful and almost totally destructible. By the end of a race the track will be thoroughly trashed and your car will be a twisted shadow of its former self. Unlike the NFS games (Underground and Most Wanted) this racer runs smooth as silk on my Athlon64 4000+ with Ati x850xt pcix and 2 gigs of ram. Awesome and highly recommended! Expand
  2. Epic racing game, the career mode is very, very good plus every race seems to be challenging so far. Not to mention the fact you dont have to win to have fun with this(game rewards you alot for slamming into and destroying opponents cars). The soundtrack however does get repetitive and I wouldnt recommend playing it if your easily ticked off when you lose. Expand

FlatOut 2 is a fun game. You'll often find yourself in amazing crashes or incredibly close races. The minigames are plentiful and entertaining. Unfortunately once you've unlocked all of the cars in the single player Career mode you've done all the game has to offer other than playing the many game types just for fun. Personally I prefer Need for Speed: Most Wanted because the cars are way, way cooler and there's far more customization. Ah well, to sum up, this is a straight-up racing game with some destructive elements and some funny minigames. It's nothing amazing, but it's only $30 too. Five CD's is just stupid, by the way. After Playing Flatout 2, I was actually quite appauled at what the series had evolved in to..

The Racing stages are much the ssame - althou
gh now there is a 'Streetracing' Section to the game... Very Original

and the Stunt Events have been made well - Unplayable in my opinion - replacing your car with a 'High Powered Rocket Car' and adding obsticles not only on the track - but in th air; no longer in highjump will it record the highest peak of your jump - but the height in which you hit the net..

The Game has gone downill... And I for one - don't like it.
