On first play though, Island of Spirits certainly is interesting and requires some thinking ahead to be able to complete. It ticks enough boxes for the making of a good game, but it could definitely benefit from some development if the creators wanted to appeal to a wider audience or to increase replayability.
Honestly, it took me a little while to really get my head around Isle of Spirits on Xbox One. The permadeath was initially annoying and the look and design was just too simple for my tastes. But after a while, I began to enjoy the casual island life, beginning to understand the ways of survival on these randomly generated islands.
There are a myriad crafting and survival games that are better designed and more refined than this and most of them cost less. It’s simply far too many GAME OVER‘s for my tastes.

Summary Isle of spirits is a chill and casual survival game taking place on a mysterious desert isle. Build your home, survive, and fight against microclimates or supernatural phenomenons. The isle will be your home and your enemy: it offers all resources to live, but it is also full of terrible dangers.
