  • Summary: Long ago the immortal Aeons presented the fledging races with the technology to travel the stars. Without pause for reasoning, vast fleets colonised the cosmos expanding the interstellar community until a great cataclysm occurred. Now the Aeon’s, a technologically superior race that once guguided the lesser races, is all but lost to myth. Their colonies and technology lie beyond reach - scattered throughout the galaxy, like so many stars. Only fading memories recall the cause of the Aeons downfall and the loss of the star-gates that ended the first Galactic War. Devoid of the means to navigate the stars, the empires of the six major races began to look inwards as communication between worlds was lost. From the depths of the abyss, the long forgotten desire for exploration and conquest calls out once again. For it would only be a matter of time before each race would: recover the knowledge to rebuild their fleets, reawaken their desire to explore, rekindle their need to expand and return to warring ways. As the six galactic empires make ready for the arduous struggle ahead, all manner of citizens are rallied to the cause. Scouting expeditions leave the safety of their stellar berths seeking out potential systems ripe for colonisation. Close behind terra-forming ships prepare planets for swelling populations. Throughout countless shipyards powerful battle-fleets are forged from newly acquired resources, ready to face the threats that emerge with every cycle of the sun. A new age has arrived. The Age of Immortals has descended upon the fledging empires of the known galaxy. Will you dominate or be destroyed? [Paradox Interactive] Expand

  1. A grand strategy game that gives you some serious value for your buck.
  2. 4X fans should be able to extract plenty of entertainment from this Danish import.
  3. For a game so concerned with balance, its annoyances are in danger of outweighing its virtues.
  4. Hardcore turn-based strategy fans will soon tire of the "in-space" novelty and recognize that Immortals is nothing more than an unoriginal, formulaic budget title.

Excellent graphics, typical final fanasy storyline (great but not innovative), sound is exceptional. The story involves flashbacks coming to the main charachter in dream like text sequences which are wonderfully composed and really adds the drama and emotive element. Combat is ok but the FF style mechanics are a little dated. This is a very good game and will please FF fans without question. The rest may find the combat and gameplay a little repetitive and tedious but its worth ploughing through. Will suffer from mass effect comparisons but is no match for the space epic. Expand

Poor graphics, poor GUI that confuses you even after hours of use, odd shipbuilding system where you have to have the full price of the ship in minerals before ANY construction can even begin (what happened to paying x minerals per turn for y turns instead of saving minerals for y turns before construction even begins) and the fact that everything is done in a haphazard way just keeps this game from ever being fun. Isn't this a repeat of their last game. There isn't even much research to do. Space Empires 4+5 blow this game out of the park, including SE5's many bugs. Oh, and FYI, Immortals was originally planeed as a patch for the original then Pollux got greedy and turned our patch into a $30 expansion. Shame on them. I recommend buying Space Empires 4 for $10 on steam your space 4x fix, Lost Empires: Immortals is a complete waste of time, and that is being polite. Collapse
