With its excellent world-building and intriguing story, P.A.M.E.L.A could have been a great survival game, but it sadly fails to reach the must-have status due to a variety of issues. The game can still be an enjoyable experience, but how much really depends on the player's tolerance for mediocre combat, bad enemy AI and the many technical issues.
I really wanted to like P.A.M.E.L.A, so I was willing to overlook its minor flaws. The voice acting is awful, the combat bored me, but I did enjoy crafting, hacking, and exploring beautiful Eden. What I couldn’t ignore though, was the game’s performance. Not only did P.A.M.E.L.A. run frustratingly poorly, but its engine also clogged up every ca. 40 minutes (regardless of PC specs) and the only thing I could do to make the game playable again was restart it. The upside of P.A.M.E.L.A. is that it is aesthetically pleasing to navigate. The world is a run-down futuristic utopia and each area is unique and adds character to the city. You can really feel the emptiness of what once was a bustling, thriving city. I look forward to seeing how P.A.M.E.L.A. turns out when it’s all said and done, but in its current state, I don’t think I would recommend it.
Summary Explore, fight, and survive as an awakened sleeper, in a fallen utopian city savaged by a horrific disease. With an array of hi-tech weapons, highly immersive UI, full-body awareness, and much more, P.A.M.E.L.A. delivers an intense and unforgiving survival experience.
