Certainly grab a copy if you are a fan of Middle Earth and if you like the crafting genre… or even just if you are a fan of Middle Earth, there’s more lore here to absorb whilst traveling the halls of Moria (or digging them out).
Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria doesn’t take any huge chances with the survival crafting genre. Still, the Lord of the Rings overlay and familiar character cameos help make its familiar loops seem fresh enough. In the mixed-bag pantheon of Lord of the Rings-inspired games, Return to Moria acquits itself quite well.
You can disregard all the fake negative reviews. This game is amazing lord of the rings environment, this is so much fun to play with a friend, and the base-building is incredibly thought out. Combat is fun, and simple, but it doesnt need to be complicated. Exploration is fun and you feel like you are really going through the ruins of the past civilizations. The design of the areas is beautiful, and as I mentioned, the combat is fun, it is hordes of goblins and orcs and neutral creatures, there is no lack of adventure in this game. What a gem, it had a rough launch, but people will realise how amazing this is when they branch out the release to other platforms like Steam. I will buy this on console too just to have it on the go.
The best game for me in section survival with friends. This game has everything what I need to have fun and grinder all day. Valhaim lvl up. A lot of craft to unlock and enemies to beat. I hope levels of moria will never ends :)
The formula for a game like this is well established, and while Return to Moria doesn't add anything new to the genre, it works just fine. It may seem strange, but it's boring in a somewhat safe and relaxing way – when the technical aspects works.
Return to Moria has a decent core that could have used a little bit more time in the tank to reach its full potential. Hopefully, community feedback will be taken into account and post-launch support will focus on improving some of the basic mechanics. If they do that, it has real potential to be one of the better survival crafting games in recent memory.
If you’re a fan of the universe, Return to Moria is a reason to re-immerse yourself in familiar sights and sounds, but for anyone else it’s just another survival game.
There’s a decent game in here somewhere, as the compelling progression loop and chaotic multiplayer capabilities can make for a really good time – I just can’t give you many reasons to pick this survival game over the plethora of better options when it’s only ever by-the-numbers at best.
That's actually really decent game for me and my friends to play. This game is meant to be played in coop. Bad that always paid IGN and company don't see that.
It feels like ps3 game. I hate what they have done with potential of this game! There are overwhelming amount of points that should have been done or done better.
I love lotr and only because of that I'm playing this game. If you play alone it's pain most of the time.
Loading screens, my ps1 is faster!
The worst of all is that if you find blueprints you can't just craft them in a forge no. You have to search 5h for specific one in the world. That makes orcs and enemies always better than you. And if you not find that f forge, 2+ stronger enemies and your done, run if you can.
I wouldn't recommend it because for me this game is 50% finished and should be forged for some more time that it is.
