  • Summary: Set during the Vietnam War, Vietcong is a first person shooter with tactical elements. Vietcong combines thrilling action with strategic thinking. The evolving storyline combined with the game's intense sound system, graphics and animation truly bring powerful jungle combat to life on your PC. Acting as an elite soldier, players of Vietcong command the A-team, part of the U.S. Special Forces, in realistically represented Vietnamese environments. Players will lead as many as six expertly trained soldiers through 20 dramatic missions, and follow a storyline that captures the danger, fear and unpredictability of the war itself. 1. One of its most remarkable accomplishments is the way gunfights play out like gunfights rather than shooting galleries. [July 2003, p.88]
  2. The uniqueness of the setting and the Platoon/Full Metal Jacket inspired cut-scenes and soundtrack add a lot to the experience.
  3. Vietcong can provide some tense and enjoyable gameplay, but also serves up some very frustrating levels that will try the patience of many gamers. With a bit more polish and consistent level design Vietcong would be a really good game.
  4. They've managed to make a consistent game world and suck the player into it. The fact remains, however, that including more mundane and frustrating elements of real world warfare is a double-edged blade, especially when some of the other technical elements of your game are not up to snuff - like the AI, or clunky engine.

Single player has one of the best campaign experience ever. Weapons are unique respectively . the story is rich as good war movie out there, but not overly-dramatic like those ordinal WW2 shooters. Various locations drawn/built in fine detail. Perfect shooting balance between realistic shooter and arcade action. Truly a masterpiece. Expand

Really good game, not the best, but not the worst. Graphics aren't that good but it's not the graphics that count.

This game is really good, with action packed jungle warfare the fun never ends, however, there are certain problems that has casted a shadow over this game, bad things.... 1) the guys at GOD Games have shipped a whole lot of bugs while releasing vietcong 2) Graphics are overall not got, it is quite outdated 3) some AI concept of players is not that good. good things..... 1) Multiplayer is very fun and awsome to play with 2) alot of sigleplayer missions to keep you challenged 3) good level environment. 4) sound is good, also weapons are great overall this game's not that bad :)) but b4 you buy this game, try Men of valor first another FPS based on the Vietnam war by 2015.
